The rear windows on my 2003 jeep liberty stopped working. they would not move up or down using the buttons. the only way to keep them up is to put tape on them. at first the only time the window would come down was when i would be driving. then they would not stay up at all. this created a problem when it was raining. there were times when my entire backseat was wet because of the windows fallen down. a mechanic told me it was the window regulator. i just had a mechanic repair one of the windows. it costed me $385 dollars to get one window repaired. i could only afford to get one done, so i still have tape on the other window.the dealership quoted me an estimate of $600. also, i am concerned because other owners said they have had to change out the regulators more than once. i would not be able to keep replacing those regulators. and i do have the old part from the one window that was changed.

Window regulator fails and window stays down. this has happened 4 times on my 2002 liberty and now five times on my wifes 2003 liberty. it is all over the internet about this defective part. why has this not been recalled?

Window regulator inside the rear passenger door broke and caused the worm cord to shoot out of the door locking mechanism. therefore the window fell inside of door and door would not shut or lock and the window will no longer mechanically move up or down.

Driving along and rear right power window started to slip down. i tried to put it up but it made grinding noises and kept slipping. it started to rain, so rain came into vehicle. also could not go to doc appt - could not leave unsecure vehicle in parking lot. had to come home and stick a wooden wedge into window to keep it up. i was affraid window would fall into door frame and break. hard to pay attention to road while constantly looking over shoulder at window.

I own a 2003 jeep liberty and have had it for 2 years now and have every problem you can think of. my warranty recently expired 6,000 miles ago. my warranty expired at 75,000 miles and at 78,000 miles my air conditioner broke and had to replace that it cost me $900.00. just yesterday may car would not shift passed second gear, i have an automatic transmission, i noticed it when i was getting on the highway. lately i have been noticing that the transmission seems to be slipping but never could find the problem because my transmission fluid was always fine. so yesterday i went to aamco transmissions and they said it was the tcm so they told me it would cost $440.00 total. so they went to order the part but come to find out no one has it and the place that has all the tcm parts wont ship them till the 24th of september. so here it is september 3rd and i wont have my car fixed for the whole month of september. i don't understand why they wont ship them now. also, they told me that they have been selling out of tcm fast because everyone is always needing them. *tr

On 5-6-03 i purchased a 2003 jeep liberty. on 5-29-03 i took the vehicle to the shop for the first time(995 miles) for a possible missing in the engine. tech found the a/c overfull but no miss in the engine. the a/c was discharged and recharged to the proper level. this did not correct the problem. every 8 to 10 seconds the engine surges( what feels like a miss) and more frequent with higher rpms. the second shop visit was at 1,420 miles with same problem. no fix! the third shop visit was at 1,941 miles with same problem. no fix! the fourth shop visit was at 2,089 miles with same problem. no fix! the fifth shop visit was at 2273 miles with same problem. no fix! on the fifth visit a chrys. service rep.(jim dupree) kept vehicle for two days. found the pressure in the a/c is going from 140psi to 180psi in less than a second which is what causes the jerk(miss) in the engine. cause: a sensor that controls the a/c compressor. this could possibly be causing the very low gas mileage(17mph on the highway). as of 9-12-03 i have not been informed of a fix. i was advised by the chrys. cust. service phone line the matter had been turned over to the dist. manager matt witters and he has made his offer of a trade to a different type vehicle. i have never spoke to him in person or by phone. in the past several weeks i have been trying to find out what chrys. is doing to find a fix but i have been unsuccessful. numerous attempts to contact mr. witters has failed. i was also inform mr. witters has tried to contact me but it has always been at times he was told not to call. i do not want to trade for another chrys. product that i did not want to began with or i would have purchased another type. i want them to repair the one i have, give me another liberty(without problem), or give me my money back. that is not asking too much. i have been unsuccessful in getting any response over the past month. *ph

Groaning/grinding noise in the back wheels at slow speeds, mostly when leaving a parking garage, stop lights, parking lots. brake pedals not depressed at the time. noise increases when temperature is low and humidity is high. noise started at 1,000 miles (less than a month after the date of purchase). taken to dealership who at first could not duplicate the problem. i recorded the noise several times and played to the dealership service manager. in for repairs for the same purpose over 10 times during the 1st year, without success. issue is now with chrysler engineering who appears not to be in any hurry to fix the problem. dealership does not follow-up and does not communicate on the status of this issue. also never received the recall notice. took the car in for the recall service after seing your notice, and was told it might take a couple of months for the recall notices to get out. it's been 6 months, and no recall notice as yet. other issues with this car are another rattling noise that they can't fix. a weather strip on the driver's window that had to be replaced 7 times (so far) because it keeps coming loose. excessive vibration when on the highway at speeds of 70 mph. wind noise coming from every direction, can't hardly hear the radio. radio quality is so bad i can't use it. have to play cds instead. and chrysler won't do a thing to remediate the problems. *la
