Our 2003 jeep liberty has a defect that has a tsb on it. it was supposed to have been repaired by a dealer in may 2004. in chryslers notification to customers, they claim that the rear flip up window may open if water gets into the switch, only if vehicle is un-locked. that un-locked statement is false and we have had it happen 2 or 3 times with vehicle locked. this is a safety issue as it would allow a person to enter the vehicle through the rear lift glass, unknown to the operator and would expose the operator to theft and assault. chrysler outright lied about the unlocked condition as the lock is powered at all times and only needs to be grounded to operate. *tr

I am on my 2nd repair of ball joints with my 2003 jeep liberty, i have also had a repair when water gathered and caused my front passenger side carpet to get soaked with water. my issue is related to my tires, i have had rubbing and veering to the right problems since i purchased my car a few years ago. i have taken it in questioning alignment and was told i needed to rotate every oil change which i due but the premature wear on my tires is bad. i believe it is caused from the upper and lower ball joint problems and feel my tires need to be replaced by the dealer at no charge to me. *tr

I bought my jeep off of my grandparents in october. its a really nice jeep, only has 69,000 miles. that's good for an 03. every car has its problems im sure. but mines on recall. i have had the airbag light come on and go off. and i comes on whenever it wants to. and it scares me because if the airbags go off, not only will i be mad, but you can bet, ill prob raise hell. because i don't fell save driving a car that has the potential to have the airbags go off. also i have noticed that the power lock on the drivers side works when i wants to. like i have to hit it a couple times to get it to work. not such a big deal. also the cd player doesn't work. like i've change all the fuses to try and get the door lock/cdplayer to work. and nothing changed. it make a really loud and annoying noise after the cd plays for awhile. that i don't car about. also one day i got in my jeep. i don't know how because the door was shut and locked, but on the drivers side, on the inside of the door. was nothing but ice. the door still opened and closed, no problem but, it looked like somebody took a gallon of water and dumped in down the inside of my door and it froze over. and that's the problems i've noticed with it. the only thing i care about is the whole air bag thing. i have received notice that it will be fixed, but will it be fixed for good. because i don't feel safe driving around and doing my daily things, knowing that i, or my family, or friends could get hurt from the airbags going off. so i hope that whatever the company is doing to fix it works, because everyday i get in my jeep, that's the only thing that is going threw my head. thanks *tr

While traveling eastbound the car in front of me stopped all of sudden due to car in front of them changing direction from turning to going straight. i crashed into the rear of the car in front of me. my jeep has extensive damage. the airbags did not deploy. my passesger and myself had head injuries and knee injuries had the airbags deployed there wouldn't have been no injuries. something needs to be recalled about this problem.

The support straps for the fuel tank failed suddenly after making a left turn. the fuel tank contacted the road surface for a short time (1 minute) before the vehicle could be stopped. the rear corner of the tank (passenger side) was damaged to the point that fuel leaked from the tank. both support straps were broken after the incident. the tank was approximately 1/4 full prior to the incident. both of the support straps failed near the bottom of the fuel tank. the remaining pieces of the support straps were still fastened to the frame and the fasteners were still in place after the incident. both support straps were severely rusted. although we are disappointed that this incident happened, we are grateful that no one was hurt. we realize the outcome could have been a lot worse. *tr

Passenger side rear window falls open creating a security risk for vehicle driver and contents. window regulator has been replaced by a franchised jeep dealer six times - once a year for the last six years.

At only 66,000 miles original owner directly from a 4-year corporate lease, a large corrosion/rust hole through bottom of passenger side body frame rail has been discovered, where lower control arm meets the frame rail. breakage of the rear frame rail is pending due to rust hole, would likely cause a spontaneous loss of steering, injury or death. jeep is too dangerous to drive. must spend $2,000 to try to replace frame rail. contacted chrysler but they would not fix due to year of vehicle, corrosion recalls are 2004-2007. the entire underside of vehicle is rusted and only a matter of time before all other components rust through including suspension and brake lines as well as lesser parts already going like rear window currently rusted shut and engine parts with corrosion beginning. i live in nj which is included in the salt belt -states that use salts to de-ice roadways in winter, so the recall on my would not affect my vehicle regardless of it's year. it is my opinion that there is a major corrosion/rust issue in the earlier jeep liberty models which makes these vehicles very dangerous to drive. buyers beware especially in the northeast. have a thorough inspection for rust before buying any used jeep liberty.

**urgent** i am requesting that the recall of jeeps due to gas-tank fires be accelerated. i became aware of the gas-tank fires involving jeeps on 6/17/2012. my only mode of transportation is a 2003 jeep liberty and i am fearful of driving the vehicle now. if someone rear ends me, the jeep may burst into flames. i am filing this complaint against jeep/chrysler for allowing myself and a million other drivers to continue driving a vehicle with a dangerous condition when they have known of the issue for the last two (2) years!! i have not personally had an incident but i would like the problem corrected before i am added to the fatality statistics. a recall needs to be done immediately with either correction to the vehicle or vehicle replacement. jeep/chrysler owe a responsibility to its consumers to report unsafe/dangerous conditions. thank you

Both rear windows have fallen into window tracks due to failure of a $.05 piece of plastic. the dealer repair is $600 to replace window accuator with no promise that the failure will not happen again, since the exact same part that fails is the exact same part that is replaced. it is simply a disgrace that an individual can google this issue on jeep liberty's and see that this happens everyday and has happened tp thousands of owners. how can chrysler get away with this, and not be forced to repair a faulty part that is known to fail time and time again?
