There appears to be water leaking on the passenger side front and passenger side back into car when it rains and it is severe
10/21/2012129000
While traveling eastbound the car in front of me stopped all of sudden due to car in front of them changing direction from turning to going straight. i crashed into the rear of the car in front of me. my jeep has extensive damage. the airbags did not deploy. my passesger and myself had head injuries and knee injuries had the airbags deployed there wouldn't have been no injuries. something needs to be recalled about this problem.

Rear window regulators have broken 4 times, fix is hundreds of dollars. dealer told us jeep uses inferior plastic parts and refuses to correct this problem. will never buy a jeep again

Both rear windows have fallen into window tracks due to failure of a $.05 piece of plastic. the dealer repair is $600 to replace window accuator with no promise that the failure will not happen again, since the exact same part that fails is the exact same part that is replaced. it is simply a disgrace that an individual can google this issue on jeep liberty's and see that this happens everyday and has happened tp thousands of owners. how can chrysler get away with this, and not be forced to repair a faulty part that is known to fail time and time again?

Problem is with rear power windows when the assembly breaks the cable jams the door lock and you can not open the rear door
03/09/200941507
Power windows failing to stay up due to faulty regulators: two years ago the rear left window of my 2003 liberty fell into the door casing. when using the atomatic buttons, the window would not go up and the window motor would simply attempt to raise the window with no success. upon taking it to the jeep dealer, they stated the window regulator neeeded to be replaced. after paying $227.94, my window was fixed and back to normal. surprisingly, a few months later, the right window fell while driving on the highway (this is a major safety issue). back to the same dealership we went, for a second and unnecessary diagnostic (the maintence man said this was a problem he had frequently seen) to determine the regulator was broken. i paid to have the second window fixed and continued to drive my car. this week, the left rear window fell again while driving down the street in my neighborhood (20 mph). i contacted jeep headquarters directly after researching online (inculding the nhtsa website) that this is clearly not an isolated incident and they have neglected to address the saftey issue with their automobile owners. they are requesting that i take my jeep back in for another diagnostic, and to confirm there has been no neglect of maintenance on my part. my jeep has just over 65,000 miles

Jeep liberty 2003. rear windows up/down mechanic breaks... poor construction.. it breaks and the window fall down, leaving it open and with kids on the back sit are instantly exposed with the risk of putting parts of their bodies to the outside of the car. there are thousands of jeep users complaining on the internet... jeep has not step up to recall those defectives rear windows.

I have a 2003 jeep liberty and the electric window motors have gone out 4 times from 2007 to present. 3 motor/regulators have stopped working in the rear drive window (the original and 2 replacements), and now the passenger side window motor is out. the window just drops and will only move manually.

I have replaced nine window regulators, affecting all four windows. the windows simply drop into the door frame, leaving passengers vulnerable and the jeep unsecured.

Control mechanism for the right rear electric window broke and window fell down. would not roll up. mechanic said control was broken and that whole control mechanism would have to be replaced as that is the only way that jeep sell part even though only part of mechanism was broken and electric motor still worked. very expensive repair for a part that should be sold separately. i have seen other similar complaints. looks like this is a faulty part on the jeep liberty. car only had 68000 miles even though it is a 2003.

While driving my 2003 jeep liberty sport, i heard a loud and distracting thud, only to discover that the back window on the drivers side had fallen into the door. the door also became jammed and i was unable to open it from either the inside or outside of the vehicle. this happened to the other back widow just 9 months prior to this incident. at that time i took my vehicle to an auto repair shop, and paid to have it fixed.i have read several complaints about this happening in the jeep liberty. the issue is a cheap, plastic part used in the window regulator. this is a design flaw, and chrysler will only replace this part with another cheap plastic part, rather than using a sturdier metal part. this is an expense issue as well as a safety issue. the noise the window makes when it falls is very distracting. all the doors and windows should be functioning properly in case of emergencies, and the driver should be able to control the windows, in order to avoid dangerous debris flying into the car, not to mention having some control over outside elements. (weather) chrysler really should do a recall, and stop charging jeep owners to fix what is their fault in the first place-it is a design flaw in the jeep liberty. many reports from jeep owners mention this happening to the same window, or multiple windows over and over. there ought to be a class action lawsuit against chrysler.

Jeep liberty window falling inside door -- eighth (8th) time on this vehicle. safety issue because of children riding in the rear seat and window is unable to be brought to a close. i bought this liberty new and have garaged it the entire time but the repair parts are worthless. why won't chrysler be forced to repair these windows with parts that do not break?

Without warning, the power window regulators in my 2003 jeep liberty sport failed. both the driver and passenger rear windows stopped working within months of each other. i had them fixed and now just a few months later the passenger side window in the rear has stopped working again. i have read that this is a common problem with the jeep liberty. the faulty part(s) need to be recalled and fixed.

All four windows have fallen down into door. 2 of which were replaced a month ago. the other 2 fell two weeks after taken to dealership. i was charges $100 for first time. they said they looked at the other two and they were ok. now they want another $100 for the other two.

Power window regulators on my 2003 jeep liberty have been replaced by jeep during warranty, then by me post warranty a total of 6 times. each regulator assembly costs me $172 and they only appear to last 1-2 years, even with minimal usage

Window regulator failure causing window to fall. 2 failures on drivers side rear window, 3 failures on passenger side rear window since july 26 of 2006. parts replace 3 times at owners expense, 1 at jeeps expense and latest with co-pay.

When i was sold my 2003 jeep liberty without a working a/c, i was forced to use my windows as a means of ventilation and cooling these past almost four years. (the a/c is another story.) my rear passenger window started to make gargling type noises as i rolled it down and up about two months ago. then my front passenger window began to make a similar sound. however, when attempting to roll it back up 2 weeks ago it would not come all the way up. as i pressed on the window button for a few seconds this coil came up from inside the door and the window would not go up any farther. so, i had a mechanic friend open the door to check out the problem and he said the foam piece (regulator) was broken. another friend and i researched the problem online and came across numerous unsatisfied customers who are dealing with the same issue! i got the number of a local dealership and the service person looked up my vin to see if there are any recalls on my liberty. to my dismay there are none. so, his guess to fix my problem would be $300 - 600...for one window!! there's no way i'm able to pay for even half of that outrageous cost! with one window out of commission, the rear passenger window is still gargling at me so i try not to use it. however, without a working a/c on these hot days it's such a disgrace to not be able to use my windows! plus, i drive a lot for work and transport people...not good!! today i came across this website. i'm not sure what this is going to do to help my situation (and others in the same leaking boat), but it was worth a shot. i'm tempted to go through the other websites to order the part myself and then fix it myself. is this a wise decision, or should i wait to see what comes of this complaint? it's a shame that big corporations are allowed to do this to their trusting consumers. from all of us little people, we appreciate any help we're able to get from this ridiculous situation.

2003 jeep liberty every window regulator has been repaired at least once. spent over 1,000 in repairs. google it... numerous complaints about this model from every year with same problem. needs to be recalled and fixed! money owed back to owners.

Six times windows (both sides, front and back) have fallen at different times inside the door of my jeep liberty. today the falling window also resulted in the door not being able to open. this definitely is a hazard when you have small children riding in the back seat -- since they cannot ride in the front due to the air bags. this is a well-known hazard to chrysler jeep and they will not waive the cost of the repair or the deductible on the warranty. and the proble keeps happening. i figure that a window on this vehicle lasts about 10,000 miles because i only have 66,000 miles and this is the sixth time it has happened. this is dangerous and there should be a recall on this problem and the problem should be permanently repaired free of charge.

Rear passenger drivers side window has fallen and been replaced twice, it did it again so now it is screwed up. in research this is a major problem with the vehicle

I have a 2003 jeeb liberty, as i was crossing a rr track the back passanger window went down by itself. the local jeep dealer says it is going to cost $400 to $500 to repair, i could not afford it so had to put a peg in the window to hold it up, about 1 year later my son rolled down the back driver side and it would not roll up, it is same thing happened on the other window, as i was looking online this is happening alot. i am wondering along with lots of other people why the is no recall been placed on considering there are so many cases. just because no injuries have occured does not mean they should get away with not fixing thier bad parts. if it was one or two cases i could see them not fixing it but all i have read online it is way more than that. we the consumer should be protected from the big automakers.

Rear window driver's side fell down - window regulator replaced (2006). rear window passenger side fell down- window regulator replaced (2008). rear window passenger side fell down - window regulator replaced (2009 part under warranty). rear window driver's side fell down- window regulator not yet replaced (2009). no old parts available except one that has yet to be replaced. contacted customer assistance in auburn hills, mi and was told that there was nothing they could do for me. i asked if there were any records of defect for this part or if any other owners had similar complaints and was told that they don't keep those sort of records. since this time i have come in contact with 3 parties that have the same problem with this part (faulty window regulator) i believe there are many more that have a problem with this part and that the manufacturer should be held responsible for repairs and reimbursement for repairs already completed (by dealer or other)

The power window regulators in both back windows have failed twice, causing the windows to fall. this is a safty issue. if these fail during and rollover accident and the window falls a person can be ejected from the vehicle. it also poses a threat for vehicle theft or abduction because of an unsecured vehickle. on april 3 2010 our rear drivers side window failed for the second time and the passenger side rear has also failed twice all since july of 06'. online forums have hundreds of people who have had similar experiences.

My rear passenger side power window fell down and would not go back up. i tried the automatic push buttons and all my other windows worked, but not that particular window. then the cord got caught and i could not open the door for my friend to get out of the back seat. i did not hit anything with my car and nothing hit my car. the window fell down on its own.
