I was parked and preparing to leave work when my window dropped down into the door. i see that a recall was done on this same issue for my vehicle, but not my year.. i have a 2005 and they are only covering this issue for 2006 forward... why.. if it is an issue with this model, than shouldn't the other years be covered as well?

First the drivers rear regulator failed, causing the window to fall and break inside the door. i replaced both the window and the regulator. six months later the passenger rear regulator failed and the window dropped in the door. this time it did not break the glass. just a month after the warenty on the driver rear expired, it failed again. now i have no working back windows. the service manager at the local dealership ackowledged this as an issue but stated there is no recall. he recomended that i take it up whith chrysler. they claim it the problem exists but not with this year. they told me because i did not buy it new nor use the dealership for my service they would not help. with the glass breaking this is more than an inconvenience, it is dangerous. chrysler knows this is an issue and is ripping people off by charging them over $400.00 to replace these with parts that will fail again.

Window regulator on rear diver's side door failed. regulator failure prevented the rear diver's side door from opening and made the door inoperable as an exit.

Gas tank would not take fuel. for 177.00 the dealer told me the safty valve was stuck in the fill tube and i needed 1400.00 for a new tank. only 72,000 miles and all new valves ,2 recalls and now this. never again

Recieved notice about the recall of rear suspension lower control arm and the details of approximately how long it would take to fix given an appointment has been made and part was ordered. made an appt. with dealer two weeks in advance and according to the recall statement the work would take approximately an hour but give it more time in case of a congested schedule oat dealer. at no point was i made aware that the work would apparently take half of the day. this dealership is approximately an hour from my home and was not prepared to spend half of the day sitting in the dealership, nor was i made aware that i should be prepared to spend half the day there when the recall notice says the work only takes an hour. therefore, my car is still not fixed and i will have to find another jeep dealer that will better adhere to the appointment time they had me make.

Bought liberty new in 2005. on 03-26-08, left rear window regulator broke for no reason. repair not covered under warranty-cost $325.00. other owners had same complaint, buy per jeep, no recall. on 12-16-09, right front window regulator broke and window dropped into door panel. still no recall. per service advisor jeep now using a different fix and replaced regulator should not have same problem. repair cost $381.00. on 11-03-10, left rear window regulator (previously replaced in 03-08) broke again. window had not even been used dozen times since previously replaced. filed complaint with jeep. also researched and saw many jeep owners having same repetitive problem. was advised by chrysler customer assistance center that it was a vendor issue and no recall in effect. after battle with chrysler, they finally agreed to reimburse me 100% for 3rd window and the cost of the 2 prior repairs minus $100.00 deductible. they reimbursed me $606.00.

Shift cable failed when we rolled to a stop. went to put the jeep in park. would not go. would not go into reverse. managed to force it into neutral but that was it. had to manually push the jeep backwards to try to turn it around to take it to a shop. key would not come out as a result making battery go dead. very unsafe because if that shifter cable broke at a higher speed it may or may not have messed the transmission up or allowed us to shut the vehicle off. for instance it it were in drive and could not be shut off what would we do? found out from local jeep dealers that they have to replace several of these a week. my personal mechanic was unable to secure one for several days because they were sold out all in our region. suspect this is a big problem. no word from jeep on this! mechanic was stunned how poorly made the cable is and was surprised it lasted as long as it did!

I've had multiple window regulator failures (leaving my car open to theft and damage), seat belt broken, and air condition compressor, and rear axel problems. all issues happened shortly after the warranty expired.

I cannot control my vehicle while driving on the highway. the steering column seems to be very loose and the jeep shimmies. it seems that when you reach maybe 50 mph the back end seems to pull to the right while you are trying to drive straight. causing alot of shaking and pulling going on. a very unsteady ride. and noticed when trying to stop at the fast pace the front end wants to go to the left while the back end wants to go to the right. very scary driving conditions. took it to the jeep dealer last year and they told me that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, that jeeps have alot of play in the steering. but when i noticed that when i go over a bump a loud clanking noise happens i decided to look on line to see what the problem could be and i saw that there was a recall on ball joints, so i thought it could be that. i took it into the dealership yesterday and they told me that there was something wrong, described exactly what i was dealing with and told me that they would find out. to my dismay, they said it was my rear lowe control arms that needed to be replaced and would charge me over 600 to fix. now finding out that others are having the same issue and some have resulted in a wreck. something needs to be done regarding this issue before someone loses their lives.

It is a well documented fact regarding the continued negligence of chrysler/jeep regarding the defective window regulators. the window regulator controls the electric window and keeps it in place. with no warning the defective part frequently breaks causing the window to fall into the door-the window cannot be rolled up. the first time this happened 11/09 i had two small children in the back seat during a thunderstorm. i was traveling on the freeway. suddenly the window dropped into the rear drivers door. the children started screaming as rain came into the vehicle and i had to pull over onto the side of the freeway. i had to call for help and a family member drove 60 miles to pick up the children as we sat on the side of the road with pouring rain coming into the vehicle. after investigating the matter and spending 357.00 to get it fixed,i realised this has become a chronic safety issue for this vehicle. jeep fixes the window with the same faulty part, they reimbursed me for most of the cost however 21 months later..... the same thing all over again and this time they don't want to cover it and of course they still fix it with the same dangerous part. it now costs 400-500$ to fix it. thousands of jeep liberty owners have dealt with this problem over and over. i don't understand how chrysler/jeep can get away with this blatant safety issue.

The left rear window just fell down inside the door when i was driving. we took the door apart (so we could close the window) and found out it was a faulty window regulator. i called everywhere for a part and the only one that has it is a dealer at a hefty price. i was told that it is a commom problem and the dealer checked my vin # and i was told mine was not on a recall list. on my many phone calls to various parts supplier stores, i was told that the part is junk and it would probably happen again. the dealer says there is a one year warrantly on the part. it just seems to me that it is a no win situation, for the consumer anyway. total cost of repair, parts and labor - $283.48. rediculous!

We have a 2005 jeep liberty that we purchased new. since that point the rear windows have spontaneously fallen down five times. 3 time the windows were replace under warranty, the last two times jeep has refused to cover the repair since the vehicle is out of warranty. the repair cost is approx $400 each time and they replace the broken part with the same faulty part that breaks again.

Both of my back windows fell down into the door. i am married and no children living at home so the back seat is never used. we have rigged the windows into the door so they will stay shut. i am very disappointed in this american made car. i wanted to support the u.s. economy by buying a chrysler product and i am extemely disappointed that chrysler will not do anything about this problem. my jeep liberty is a 2005 model.

Rear, drivers side window falls down into door and cannot be lifted using switch. the same window has been repaired twice already once in march 08 then again march 09. jeep reimbursed me 1/2 for first repair and 100% for second. i have requested jeep pay for repair again but do not yet know if they will.

My rear drivers side power window had broken twice on my 2005 jeep liberty. it seems as if it comes off it's track and the window moves freely in the frame. it falls down into the inner part of the door when i hit a bump. i have had this repaired once before for a rather large fee. i have heard numerous complaints of the same description from other drivers of jeep liberty's from all of the power windows. something needs to be done about this because it is not fair that i have to pay for bad engineering on the part of chrysler.

Rear power window of my 2005 jeep liberty fell down while car was parked, leaving the car open and unprotected. called dealer, and he asked is this your first time? he says it is super common, and a design fault.

Rear driver window just fell into the door. seems the power window regulator broke and you must buy the entire unit not just the piece that broke. i have researched this online and this is usual occurrence on this vehicle. there should be a recall. also chrysler seems to drag their feet on recalls. i turned in my recall card over a year ago on the ball joint recall and have yet to get a call to bring my 2005 jeep liberty in. this is unacceptable especially since the ball joints are such an integral part of the suspension.....i am afraid of my safety whenever i get on the highway fearing these joints are going to give out. please help!!!

The window regulators continuously break. the windows creep down and cannot be rolled back up. often, the windows fall down into the door causing a potential safety hazard for children or pets that could fall out of a moving vehicle. there is also a considerable theft and safety opportunity as the window regulators break without notice, allowing someone to reach into the vehicle. the left rear window regulator in my vehicle has broken four times now (it happens approximately every nine months), and the right rear window has broken once. i have been told by the service repair technicians to expect the problem to continue to occur, as the plastic part that is being replaced has not been changed in design. this last time that the left rear window regulator broke, a thick metal cable lodged itself into the latch in the door. the rear left door could not be opened. this is an obvious safety hazard in the even of an accident as an emergency crew would not be able to get the door open, nor could a passenger get out if need be.

The 2005 jeep liberty in which we were riding accelerated while i was depressing the brake pedal. this happened twice. the first time, i thought that perhaps i had hit the accelerator accidentally. the second time (the very next time we started the jeep), i had my foot on the brake to slow our descent down a long driveway. i am positive my foot was on the brake. the jeep lunged forward and picked up speed. the only way i could stop was to turn into an embankment. the jeep overturned. the accident occurred on december 26, 2008 and was reported that day to the police and our insurance company. the 2010 toyota incidents have prompted me to report this incident, but the accident occurred a year earlier. again, i repeat: the brake pedal was depressed; this was not a case of accidentally hitting the accelerator.

I purchased a gently used car from a chrysler dealership that had two open safety recalls. i was not informed of these recalls at the time of my purchase. it is my understanding that this is an offense against the nhtsa. please feel free to contact me for further information. i hope this will never happen to anyone else buying from a so-called reputable dealer, as i thought i was. *tr
