 2006 jeep liberty was leased in february 2006. in may, the car lost power steering, power brakes and completely cut off the engine while driving on the road, unable to restart. the dealership could not figure out what was wrong with the car. sent the car home with us after keeping it for 5 days and assured us that the car was fine. august 3, 2006 same exact problem happened while driving the car, no power steering, power brakes and car completely cut off the engine, car would not start again. car is in dealership. they are still trying to figure out what is wrong with it. *jb

 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep liberty. while driving 20 mph, the contact heard a sudden noise as if something fell from the vehicle. she pulled over and noticed that the fan from the engine fell onto the passenger side front floor, underneath the dashboard. she drove to her dealer, dropped off the vehicle, and it is currently being repaired. the powertrain was unknown. the current and failure mileages were approximately 19,900.

 Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep liberty. while attempting to park the vehicle stalled, and then smoke began to come under the hood of the vehicle. moments later the engine misfired. the fire department extinguished the fire. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealership. the current and failure mileages were 42000.

 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 jeep liberty. in september of 2006, the engine module in the contact's vehicle was repaired under recall. after the repair, the transmission would not shift properly. the repair also caused the motor to rev very high and the vehicle to pull harder and idle. the vehicle would accelerate from 5 to 10 mph when the accelerator pedal was not depressed. the failures occurred each time the vehicle was driven. in snowy weather conditions, the failures worsened. she took the vehicle to the original service dealer and another dealer, but they both would not reset the module again to remedy the issue. the contact spoke with the manufacturer and they stated that they could not assist. the nhtsa campaign id number was unknown. the current mileage was approximately 70,000 and failure mileage was approximately 15,000. updated 03/12/09. *lj updated 03/16/09. *jb
