I am having problems with my 2006 jeep liberty passenger window regularors. i have seen many complaints online about this problem and chrysler jeep has done nothing to solve the problem. a recall for the window regulators needs to be put into place. why should the car owners keep putting out money to fix the windows when the replacement part will only be another plastic part that will break again in time!

The regulator motor of the rear driver side window malfunctioned and the window slid down the track. consequential damage of this defect caused the door latch to brake, making the door inoperable. the consequence is a safety hazard if an accident or rollover required the passenger to exit the automobile. the failure of regulator electric window motors is commonplace on chrysler products, whereas, these occurrences are all over the internet. the dealer fixed the problem at a cost of $600. the vehicle was out of chrysler warranty, and the extended warranty insurance carrier would only cover the motor. they did not cover the broken door latch, or the window glass. after several conversations with chrysler, they admitted to having a running change in the engineering of the electric window assembly, and you cannot buy the regulator motor separately. you must buy the glass window and the entire assembly together. i believe the history of this failure warrants a recall by the manufacturer for safety concerns with the door latch breaking as a result of bad engineering. *tr

My liberty has 3 recalls, 2 having do with big safety issues- fire and tires detaching. i first called planet dodge (miami, fl) for service appt.; gave vin and advised of recalls- surprise! when i arrived for my appointment; they said the parts were on back order! today i called tamiami jeep to make an appointment and was told 1) it's very dangerous as tires may detach 2) they have some parts, but not some bolt, if that is required! question- if these are mandatory recalls and on such potentially safety compromising parts- how can the parts be on back order for 3 months!! (this will be my first visit to tamiami for service appt-but was already advised not all parts available- what's the use of making a appointment if they is a nationwide of a part to repair a recall? what happens if my tires detach or my car has underbody fire as per my most recent notice? i would appreciate a reply via email and i would like somebody to investigate how service departments can run out of parts that have mandatory recalls. i was not told at planet dodge how serious this was and have been driving around waiting for the parts to arrive.(lower ball joint). *nm
