Driver side rare power window regulator broke 2 times within 6 months. (same window) dropped while driving - 1st time it broke it was repaired costing me $259.52 - 2nd time it broke i have a temp fix holding window up b/c i'm not wasting $ to fix it if it is just going to break again in 6 months.. i cant afford to keep fixing something jeep should have recalled. this is a well known jeep liberty 06 problem.

The rear passenger side window fell off of its track and fell down inside the door, where my 3 year old daughter was seated, while the vehicle was being driven 65 mph down a major highway, on the way to visit family out of state. i had a similar incident a year ago, but with the the driverside window. this window track was covered under warrenty but the glass had to be paid out of pocket (because of a change done to the new track). the recent passenger side window is in the process of being repaired.

2006 jeep liberty- vehicles window tracks defective with plastic clips. window would fall down due to defective plastic window clips holding windows onto tracks. i would put the power window up and the next thing the window would fall down. the dealership informed me it would cost $400 to fix the problem. i'v seen numberous complaints online but no recalls were put into effect. the cost to repair this defective product is $400 each window. also the original window that's is still good cannot be reattached according to dealership service department. i was informed that the new part would include the track and window together. so what do i do with the original window that is still good. this problem needs to be address. i feel owners of 2006 jeep libertys should not have to paid due to a defective plastic clip. please have chysler jeep do a recall on this problem it needs to be addressed.

 1. operating normally 2. power window failure. occurs every 20k miles of normal use. failure due to a broken plastic bracket that attaches the window to the regulator wire coil. when failure occurs, window may slip down resulting in possible weather damage and security risks. 3. the factory fix is costly and doesn't replace the plastic bracket. the permanent fix is to replace that bracket with a metal one for about $90 + 1 hrs labor per window

No known cause of defect except cheap/faulty parts from manufacturer. window regulator fixed numeous time, resorted to duct tape that does not hold. windows won't stay up, defective window regulator for 2006 jeep liberty. numerous consumer complaints. this is a safety issue, especially for those of us who work nights and have to approach the vehicle with the window not intact. the vehicle is not secure.

Both rear regulators have quit working, leaving my jeep and myself vulnerable to others being able to easily enter the vehicle. we have replaced one and will be replacing the other next week due to the cost. as if that wasn't enough, the sun roof just quit working and stuck partially open. i hardly ever use it, so it did not break due to use. we took it into the dealership and it will cost $1300.00 dollars to repair, which we cannot afford. also, fuel quite often overflows when fueling, spilling gasoline down the side of my jeep as well as spraying out onto the person fueling. it does not matter how slowly we put the gasoline in, it still overflows. *tr

Front right passenger window regulator failed.

I've had my 2006 jeep liberty for only 2 years and have already had window regulators in both the back windows fail 3 times! when you go to control the window, it makes a loud grinding noise and either (i've had both happen) slowly start falling into the door panel or immediately just plummet down with so warning except for the loud noise which gives you no time to react to the situation. luckily, this last time, i was able to catch the window before it's great fall of death into the door and now it is electrical taped up to my door jam. which is inconvenient and unsafe. until i get it fixed, (or decide to drop another meaningless $300+++ dollars to fix a repetitive problem) my vehicle is unsafe and there should not be a worry on my part whether or not rolling down my windows at any time will cause this problem repeatedly. my front passenger window is making a funny sound now so i am reluctant to even use it. this is ridiculous. it's not like us jeep owners are pressing down on the window or even doing anything out of the ordinary to contribute to this defect. i understand things break, but 3 times in 2 years? the manufacturers buy the part for pennies and charge us an arm and a leg to get the part fixed and it continues to break. this is highway robbery and without question there should be a recall issued on this consistent problem.

2006 jeep liberty window regulators fail multiple times; possible crash hazard due to unexpected falling windows
03/15/201042005
For the 4th time in almost as many years i have had the power window regulator fail leaving the window(s) in the stuck down position. these components fail very often across the jeep liberty models. mine is a 2006 but i know of people from 2002 to current that have had this exact issue over and over.

2006 jeep liberty limited 4x4, all 4 of the windows have had regulator failure causing the windows to fall down into the door. these have all occurred at different times and even without anyone being in the vehicle. one of the recently replaced regulators that had already been repaired once have failed again while my wife was at work. she came out to leave work in the dark and as she went to drive off she noticed a window in the rear was down. she did not put it down it failed and fell on its own while inside of her place of employment again. this is a hazard that would have allowed someone to enter her vehicle and either steal from the vehicle or attack her. so all 4 power windows have failed and now they are starting to fail again. warranty will expire this october and we fear we will be left with constant repairs and she constantly worries about her safety knowing it will most likely happen again. rear gate also had a loud rattling noise coming from it and after it was supposedly fixed by dealer under warranty wife could not get the gate open to load groceries. upon inspection by me i found that the chrysler jeep dealership just wrapped the gate latch striker with electrical tape instead of replacing the defective latch causing the door latch to bind and not open. this vehicle needs to either be recalled or enforce a mandatory tsb on a working revision of new parts. *tr

Driver side window dropped - it's the window regulator - again. have replaced the other window plates and regulators in this car 4 times! really scary when you're driving and the window suddenly drops! especially nice when it's pouring out! previously was reimbursed by chrysler for repairs, but now they've 'changed their policy' (really????). this will cost me $375 at my own shop as opposed to $508 at the jeep dealership. i wouldn't care if it was twice the price, i'm not giving jeep a dime! this should have been a recall item, they should be ashamed of themselves.
