I have received several recall/repair letters from daimlerchrysler. each time i call the local dealer, i'm told that the manufacturer is low on parts, but they will notify me when replacement parts are available. after five months of requests and delays, i have finally told the dealer that the safety repair needs to be completed promptly. the dealer has agreed to schedule service now, but only after months of waiting and excuses, not to mention my final push to them. *tr

I received a letter from jeep about a safety recall for the lower ball joint, i call my dealer and they stated that it would be 3-4 months before the part came in. 3-4 months i then called daimler chrysler they said i could wait or call other dealers to see how long their wait is. it was the same story with them. on the recall it stated in bold letters this can cause the ball joint to corrode and separate. ball joint separation can result in a loss of steering control and could cause a crash without prior warning. my complaint is i have to wait 3-4 months to fix this problem while this places me and my family at risk. *jb

 (1) front right side of jeep liberty dropped down on tire (2) tire was flat and jeep ran off road (3) investigator only looked for open pot-hole or construction and did not look for any defective situation. ball joint defect was reported to public over 5 months later. i kept the tire which has unusual slicing through the inside edge with a few penetrations within that area and all perfectly lined up with each other. i took pictures of the tire assembly area in case there would be any indication of faulty parts. investigator only sited tire hit something and blew out as told to me by the state farm claim agent. follow-up of this case was rejected by same claim agent because ball joint is not available to inspect. my complaint to them saying they are not reviewing the evidence i did show them including pictures from the scene which i still think show if their was a failure of this nature or not. they have another claims agent looking into it now. until they follow this up i consider this accident to be falsely reported to your agency. *nm

Initially vehicle began making a rear clunking sound over small bumps in the road. took vehicle back to dealership several times. no problem found. on march 13,2009 while driving to work on highway, vehicle began to sway from side to side uncontrollable at speeds of 40-45 mph. took vehicle to dealership. service manager drove vehicle and agreed something was seriously defective. dealer has replaced several components under warranty, yet vehicle still has swaying problem. vehicle is still at dealership since march 13,2009. dealer said they are still waiting on an answer from chrysler/jeep. i emailed chrysler several times complaining of prior problems. recently dealer was at a lost for answers and felt the new shocks that were installed by owner were defective. other shocks were installed by the dealer and still had the same problem. dealer then began to blame the new tires. still the same problem. vehicle is not safe to drive on the road. uncontrollable and unstable. vehicle now sits in the service department waiting on the manufacturer to solve the issue. vehicle is still under factory warranty. *tr
