SERVICE BRAKES, AIR - ANTILOCK - WHEEL SPEED SENSOR
04/26/20074
Approx. 3 weeks after we purchased our new 2007 jeep wrangler we experienced a premature engagement of the esp system under normal driving conditions at a speed of 35mph. this caused the vehicle to swerve due to automatic braking and shut down of throttle. we took the vehicle to chrysler service and they replaced 3 leaking brake calipers. approx. 2 weeks later we experienced the same problem while exiting the interstate at a low speed. we immediately returned the vehicle to chrysler service and they replaced the rear wheel speed sensors. again, 1 week later the same problem occured while exiting the interstate. chrysler service replaced the steering wheel angle sensor. the 4th incident occurred 2 weeks later while pulling out of a parking lot. the service department cannot duplicate or repair the problem. we filed a lemon law claim with chrysler that is currently under settlement. we have been told they will be replacing the vehicle and the paperwork is being processed.

While turning into my driveway my 2007 jeep wrangler x (with 55000 miles) chimed and the air-bag , traction control, and anti-lock brake warning lights lit up. upon investigsting the issue i found that this leaves the saftey systems inactive! a bad clock spring in the steering wheel is he cause of all the system failures. my vehicle is no longer covered under warranty, but i feel that this should still be covered by jeep/chrysler. this is a major safty concern or me and my family.

I own 1.5 month old 2007 wrangler.i was pulling into a parking spot at a local business. i put my foot on the brake and car doesn't stop. i went up on the curb. i brake again. doesn't stop.i turn the wheel so i wont go into the glass of the business.i hit their patio and brick wall.the car wont back up or move.i turn it off and on again, then it moves.the workers came out to make sure i was ok.i told them the brakes didnt work.i had no idea what was going on and i was terrified to drive my car.i call to have car towed to dealer.i look up online inside the business to see of any similar probs.all over internet there are recalls on brakes of my model, make, year vehicle.at dealer, i mention recall possibility and they have no idea what i'm talking abt. and have never heard of such a thing... they were going to test drive it.why someone would want to do that when i just told them i had prob with brakes is beyond me.they say its fine.they tell me they are going to take off wheels and thoroughly check it.hook it up to computer and run a few tests.see if it caught any codes.i say fine.both people that i spoke with asked me if any brake lights came on... abs or any other right before it happened.no idea... didnt have time to check during incident.an hour later they come back and tell me nothing is wrong no codes that they took for 2nd test drive and its fine. but they are confident that i can drive it.mileage on car the same as when i got there.i'm still terrified.i know something happened with my car.and i know that i could have killedsomeone.they told me that they looked up my vin and no recalls.they told me to call cust service.i did.after getting my info, they told me that they would get other parties involved... and i should contact the dealership tomorrow.i try the dealership the next day.no answer the 3 x i try.i call the main cust service line again.was toldthe dealership found nothing wrong. you need to contact your insurance comp to fix your car.*ak

Abs/ traction control/ electronic stability control engages at times when using highway on/ off ramps and without applying the brakes. vehicle had been previously repaired for this issue by updating the abs control module software to the latest version, but the issue still persists. the abs malfunction indicator light illuminates and stays illuminated, but the dealer can find no trouble codes. note: this vehicle did not fall into campaign 06v493000 as the abs module under the scope of that recall was introduced two days after this vehicle was built.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 2-dr 4x4. the contact stated maybe there was a safety defect on his vehicle. the rear brake line, which is located on both sides of the vehicle, was not secured within the wheel. the lines were located near the tires and rims. the current and failure mileages were 832. updated 01/02/08. *lj the consumer stated there was no failure. this is just an owners concern regarding the location of the brake lines and their exposure to damage due too many potential sources. updated 12/12/07

While coasting to a stop sign today, i went to press the brake pedal to find the pedal locked at the top of the travel. as i pressed the pedal, the abs started modulating like the tires were locked up, but they weren't as i was on dry pavement and not slowing down at all. i frantically pumped the brake pedal and after several depressions (3-5) the pedal unlocked and traveled normally allowing me to stop the vehicle. *tr
