FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

When filling up the gas tank the fuel will spit back out of the tank. this creates a significant amount of fuel being shot back at the person filling up the vehicle and it also creates an environmental hazard. this has occured on the last few occasions when re-fueling the vehicle.

About 1/2 a galon of gas overflows and spills when filling up the gas tank of a 2009 jeep wrangler. this happens everytime i fill up the tank and the side body panel and part of the rear bumper as well as the ground get soaked with gasoline. i've contacted the dealer regarding the issue but since a recent recall only includes 2007 and 2008 models, my jeep could not get fixed

Fuel overflow every time i fill up at the gas station. 1-2 quarts end up on my jeep and the ground unless i carefully monitor the pump when fueling.

My 2009 jeep wrangler will overflow gas onto the side of the jeep onto the ground every time i fill the gas tank up when using any gas station's automatic shut-off. i do not top off the tank. i have tried 5 different gas stations to make sure this was not limited to my usual gas stations. i have also tried filling the take up at slower speeds, but it still overflows. this issue started approximately at 20k miles. this is a serious safety issue not only for me but other people using the gas pump after me. on spark from static electricity could cause a fire/explosion.

Fuel tank will overflow spilling anywhere from 1-2 quarts of fuel from vehicle when automatic fuel pumps are used. it appears as though the tank does not vent properly, when the automatic fuel pumps shut off (regardless of station) the tank appears to burp venting more gases and 1-2 quarts of fuel. this is a consistent problem happening regularly (every second or third fill up). *tr
