| I have a 2007 jeep sahara jk four door. traveling westbound on the 10 freeway in pamona, ca in the car pool lane with cruise control on going about 70mph. i had been traveling this way for about 20 minutes going straight ahead. the engine appeared to stall. the speedometer went to zero even though i wascoasting. the rpm read about 800. i keep pumping the gas pedal, every once in a while i would get a spurt of speed but had an overall reduction of speed. i had to navigate over double yellow lines, between semi's to get to the shoulder. after stopping i turned the key off then on again. it started right up and i continued the rest of the 150 miles. the dash displayed two icons. one was the esp symbol and the other was a red lighting bolt in between two vertical red lines. i called the dealer, shaver jeep, in san bernardino. the service guy said this wasn't uncommon. he hypothesize the esp system sensed a need to turn on causing the computer to take control. i assured him i was going straight and had not made any turns or hit any bumps. it happened out of the blue. if this was the reason, the computer made a false interpretation and it should have turned control back to the driver after the correction was made instead of losing speed on a busy freeway. *tr | |||
