I experienced death wobble twice yesterday. the first happened in a curve with oncoming traffic. there was no obstruction in the road. the second was shortly after on a straight stretch. again, no obstruction in the road. this was so severe my passenger had to help steady the wheel to keep me from crashing into oncoming traffic. there are no after market parts and no lift installed on the jeep. *tr

The past couple years i've noticed my jeep having a wobble while crossing 60mph, below 57 it stopped above 63 it stopped. i had new tires and balance completed. the wobble was still present. while driving down a 4-5% grade on state route 285 (4 lane divided highway most of the way) i touched the brakes and the front end started to violently wobble.. enough to rip the steering wheel from my hands. this almost put me into oncoming traffic. the wobble finally stopped at 25mph. the tires chirped in tune to the vibration. i have to assume from loss of contact with the road. the vehicle jerked side to side during this wobbling. once stopped i checked under the front end and only noted that my stabilizer was now leaking fluid and was bent. this happened around july 18th with my 8 year old in the vehicle. once i was able to get the vehicle back to town i took off the old track bar, did this due to the overwhelming number of posts on the internet. i took off the original bar and noted the back side of the upper and lower brackets hollowed out or oblonged. i removed the track bar and placed the bolts back into the mounts and wiggled them to assess if the mounts were out of round. i noted the bottom back mounting hole had approx. 1/4 inch of movement and the top back mounting hole had 1/8 inch of movement. i am currently seeing a jeep certified mechanic to have stainless steel washers added to the brackets to eliminate the source of the shaking. the mechanic stated this is a known issue that the brackets were made thinner then previous years. he also stated the washer fix is also a known solution to this issue. however i noted there isn't a smooth pivot surface on the bolts they are threaded and ate into the steel insert in the track bar bushing. i expected to find a bolt with a smooth surface for the bushing to ride on and threaded end for the nut. *tr

While driving my 2007 wrangler, i hit a small bump on the freeway and the jeep started shaking violently to the point i could barely hold onto the wheel. i was actually on my way to the dealer to have a different recall serviced, so the service department looked at it. i was told that this is a common problem, and that all it would take is about $300 to replace the steering damper because the factory ones always leak. *tr

As a citizen of the united states of america with constitutional rights and consumer rights, this is regarding the old/new chrysler jeep death wobble corruption by all parties involved..affecting 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 chrysler jeeps. after much research this chrysler jeep design/manufacture defect has existed for many, many years but the fact of the matter is the defect was not redesigned or designed out as far as chrysler and nhtsa are concerned, this dangerous and life threatening defect does not exist and will never cause death!, only crashes and accidents! we as consumers are liable for any negative outcome due to the jeep death wobble; and when the consumer gets in a crash, accident, injures someone, kills someone due to this defect, unless we can prove it was the jeep death wobble that chrysler and nhtsa say is not a safety issue or of concern (even though thousands upon thousands of jeep consumers beg to differ) we are liable for chrysler's safety defect that causes crashes and accidents that may lead to death to the consumer and those drivers sharing the road. drivers sharing the road also have a right to have jeep consumers driving safe vehicles. chrysler states chrysler jeeps are built differently chrysler consumers state what is different than safe??!!! nhtsa, an agency of the executive branch of the united states government and part of the department of transportation, describes its mission as save lives, prevent injuries, reduce vehicle related crashes. nhtsa is supposed to be promoting safety to all vehicles on the road not contributing to unsafe jeeps or any dangerous vehicles on the road! nhtsa is also denying the truth and leaving us the jeep consumers liable when they have thousands upon thousands of reports on the jeep death wobble (also known as the ?steering shimmy?) and all the stories are the same. *tr

Experienced the infamous 'death wobble'. my wife called scared to death and wasn't sure she could make it home because front end had started shaking violently. i thought she may have dropped a wheel weight. took it to the mechanic, spent over $450 for new stabilizer and steering shock, wheel rotation, and balance, and problem was not solved. took it back to the mechanic, he tried again, and did not charge me. he researched the problem on the internet and discovered all the complaints there. no one has a fix for this. chrysler says all solid front axle vehicles do this. bull! why would anyone want a solid front axle vehicle if they all do this? it's scary.you have to immediately brake to stop the shake and hope no one is right behind you. i can't believe there hasn't been a recall or a solution forwarded for the problem. there are tons of complaints all over the internet. always wanted a jeep but i'm afraid to drive the thing at highway speeds. something's got to be done. someone is going to get hurt eventually. i can't believe no one has been rear-ended or something hasn't shaken loose with all that violent vibration.

While driving my 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited sahara on the i35 north at approximately 70 mph, a slight bump caused a violent shaking of the tires and suspension system. the vehicle was nearly impossible to control, the steering wheel nearly shook out of my grasp. braking compounded the issue. i was able to veer the vehicle to the shoulder on the road, where a lower speed allowed the vehicle to recover. the same thing occurred nearly 1 hour later as i returned home. this situation is not isolated to me or my vehicle, it has been coined as the jeep death wobble by hundreds of people online.

We purchased this jeep in september 2011 for our granddaughter and within one month after purchasing it she was driving on the highway about 60 mph when the front end began shaking violently and she was bareley able to slow down, at which time the shaking quit. this same incident has been occuring sporadically ever since so we took it to a tire shop/mechanic and they replaced the shimmy shock and checked the tires at a cost of $201.22 on 6 october. the vehicle continued to shake on occassion so we took it back to the repair shop on 17 october and they suggested changing out the outer tie rod ends to see if that works at a cost of $184.46, but would not guarantee that it would solve the problem. i have since googled the words death wobble on the internet and have found that this is a common problem with the jeeps but apparently chrysler is not acknowledging that is a problem and most people are spending around $1000 in hopes of fixing the problem although it sounds like the only solution is to trade it in and let someone else deal with the problem. we went to visit family over the weekend in arkansas and the shaking was fairly frequent and now the granddaughter is afraid to even drive the vehicle. i would like to know why this vehicle is allowed to stay on the road since it is a hazard to not only the vehicle driver and passengers but to other vehicles on the road since the only way to stop the shaking is to stop rapidly on the road toally disregarding cars in front or behind you. i would also like to see some stats on vehicle accidents, specifically rear end collisions involving jeeps.

While traveling on interstate at posted speeds every rough patch of roadway or going over a bridge (bump entering or exiting bridge) the steering wheel would shake violently. i would let off gas, gently apply brake and pull onto shoulder to get control back of vehicle. sometimes i would have to come to a complete stop before the shaking would stop other times between 5 to 20 mphs the shaking would stop. this was a 300 mile trip home, i reduced speed to see if this would decrease the effects, it seem to help where roads were smoother but happened nearly just the same. the vehicle is equiped with electronic stability control which never activated. it has happened numerous time since dec 17 2011

My 2007 jeep wranger unlimited x 4x4, which is all stock and was purchased new, has developed the appropriately named death wobble which consists of violent shaking of the front end and steering wheel when hitting even a minor bump or depression in the road at speeds in excess of 45 mph. the shaking is so severe that one believes you feel as though you are about to die due to loss of control of the vehicle. the only way to stop the shaking is to come to an abrupt stop. inattentive drivers may not be aware of what is happening and this may cause an accident as the jeep driver is forced to brake. my warranty has expired and when i contacted the jeep dealership, they acted as though they had never heard of this. i took it to an independent mechanic who stated this was a rather common occurance and that it would cost about $1700 to fix with replacing u-joints, and adding a stablizer bar. from on-line testimonials, i am learning that this is simply a bandaid fix and that the ball joints and steering dampener need to be replaced for a true fix. i cannot believe that with as many problems as have been reported that chrysler-jeep has not issued a recall. i have parked my jeep for now while deciding what to do. my conscious will not allow me to trade it or sell it with the defect that i am aware of. i guess chrysler-jeep does not share my values. why hasn 't there been any litigation over this issue? where are all the lawyers when you need them??

While driving thru construction at approximately 45 mph my 2007 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited started shaking and wobbling violently. it was so terrifying and we had no idea what was happening. my daughter and i were taking my grandson to children's hospital and had another 70 miles to travel ahead of us and were scared to continue in this vehicle. we had to slow to almost a stop to get it to stop wobbling. we got off the hwy and found a jeep dealer who rented us a car to finish our trip as they tried to repair my jeep. i had only bought it 34 days before this happened but have owned jeeps for the last 18 years. when we retrieved the jeep, they replaced the steering dampener shock and said i should consider upper and lower ball joints. we made it home slowly afraid it may happen again. my fiance and i took it to the dealer we got it from the next morning and left it there for them to examine, they said the ball joints look fine and could not find anything wrong. we did some research and found that we are not alone it is called death wobble and with good reason, it feels like you are going to die. the next day we had a meeting with the salesman and his manager, they said we need to put in a complaint with chrysler and the would speak to their chrysler rep. as they have never heard of it. that day it happened again when my fiance was driving it as he was getting on an off ramp at 50 mpr. this is a very dangerous defect that could kill someone. i know if i trade it in some other family will get it and i don't want anyone else to go thru this. please please help us.

Driving home on the highway at about 60-65 mph around a small bend i hit an uneven part in the road the front end starting shaking violently out of control i almost could not hold the wheel. i slammed on the breaks and the shaking didn't stop until i can to a complete stop. this was also in a lot of traffic. another mile down the road the same thing happened again. i thought i was going to lose control and crash into the wall. the entire front end was bouncing up and down the wheel vibrating so much it was hard to hold onto. again with people driving home in rush hour i had to slam on the break in the middle of the road come to a complete stop before this violent shaking would stop. again i thought i was going to crash.

At hwy speeds when a bump is hit the front end and entire vehicle shakes violently like the front tires are going to fall off. this occurs just about every time a bump is hit. onlyway to stop it is to slow to 15 to 20 mph creating a traffic hazard. ball joints, steering damper, front end parts, new tires to no avail.

2007 jeep wrangler unlimited 4dr 4x4. at speeds over 50 mplh, the front tires begin to shake and wobble violently. the shaking only stopped after i came to a complete stop. this happened after i hit a bumpy road. my jeep has been a street vehicle and really not going on the highway many times. i only have under 9,000 miles. now that i live in california, and i have to drive in highways, i feel very uncomfortable driving speeds over 50 miles per hour.

2007 wrangler sahara unlimited experiences violent shaking of the front end and transmission gear shifter when traveling between 35 and 50 mph on bad roads, this takes place when encountering a bump or pot hole. garage suggested and installed a heavy duty steering stablizer. did not help. then they told me the right front ball joint had some play and needed replacement. i am currently waiting to get this done but upon reading up on this death wobble i am not convinced it will be fixed without considerable expense on my part. this surely is a mfg defect and needs to be resolved. i have 51,000 miles on this rattle trap. the only solution i have as others is to come to a complete stop. this has not yet caused an accident but it is only a matter of time. i either don't drive it or get rid of it and a probably large loss of value to me.
05/29/201145000
Severe shaking in front end, feels like my tires are falling off, when i am on highway! hard to hold steering wheel in place, i have to pull over and stop in order to get the jeep under control. i believe this is calle death wobble. i am so surprised after all the complaints about this issue there has been no forced recall! i am surprised we didnt crash and cause a pile up on highway!

2007 wrangler unlimited began shaking violently after going over a minor abruptment on the highway going 50 mph. almost lost control of the vehicle and had to slow to 25 mph on the highway to get it to stop stop shaking. this is the second time this has occurred, as i have already taken the vehicle to chryler to fix this and now it is occurring again. this is a dangerous situation as the driver could easily lose control of the vehicle and the driver must brake hard and slow down immediately to gain control, thereby risking being rear-ended by the car behind him/her.
01/22/201155505
The steering is defective it allows the vehicle to violently shake and you lose control. i almost ran into a concrete wall along the interstate. i was accelerating up an entrance ramp and the vehicle began shaking so violently the hood was separating from the body i estimate at least 6 off side to side shake. i could not steer, just try to hold the steering wheel straight and allow the vehicle to slow down. the ball joints, tie rod joints, and track bar must be replaced

My 2007 jeep wrangler rubicon, with 77k miles has been back to the shop going on it's 4th time, i have questioned 3 cincy dealers, the factory & they all ignore the death wobble, i finally got the parts manager at wyler dealership in cinti, ohio today, to say yes, we did get a technical alert about the track bar, so we went to the dealership to get the dealer parts, this is after, i have tried 2 other heavier duty units, this dealer part is not working, i am now trying the $380 kit from a shop in arizona that claims to have the fix, wish me luck, before i have a wreck. this is absurd to read & see so much online about this problem and chrysler is ignoring it, my next step is my local tv station & talk radio. how many complaints have to be made, not to mention hard earned dollars spent & someone being in an accident before they pay attention...now having this dealership tell me a technical alert is different than a recall? makes me even madder...they are just on a fix as needed basis?, so anyone out of warranty has to pay for the whole fix? wow where has accountability gone?

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler 4 door that i purchased new. approximately one year ago i noticed that around 50mph the vehicle would shake and you almost had to come to a complete stop to get the shake to stop. the shake is not always violent, though it is progressively becoming more violent every time. once the shaking was so violent that i almost lost control of the vehicle and almost went into the ditch. yesterday it was so violent that i almost lost control of the vehicle and was very close to running into a dump truck. a friend happened to be driving behind me and said it looked as if the entire jeep was going to shake apart and the wheels looked like they were going to fall off. i have had the jeep looked at and inspected by a mechanic and nothing is wrong with it. as i research this online it seems many jeep owners are experiencing this problem and have labeled it the death wobble. chrysler does not seem to be responding to the problem though they appear to be aware according to a local dealership. at this point i am scared to drive my own vehicle and will not let my wife drive it nor do i want to put my child in it. i am lodging this complaint in hopes that this will get investigated and hopefully chrysler will understand that this is an extremely dangerous problem that numerous jeep owners are experiencing. i don't know what needs to be done to fix it. i do believe there needs to be a recall since so many people are having problems before it really causes someone to be injured or die because they loose control of their vehicle. i was really alarmed to see that it is so common people have named it death wobble

As i was traveling on 95 towards baltimore i hit a bumpy patch in the road, my 2007 jeep wrangler4 door started shakeing violently and became uncontrollable. it felt as though all four tires were about to fall off. it was quite difficult to controll the jeep and i barley made it to the sholder with out hitting another car. the next day it happened again traveling about 45 mph. i then took it to the dealership and they replaced the tie rod and the steering chassie with reengineered parts this violent shaking is commonly known as death wobble and there are countless documented instances of this in testimonial and video form on the internet. the jeep dealership said oh you have the death wobble but after contacting chrysler they knew nothing of this problem and will refused to pay for the repairs the jeep was just barley out of warrentie. this is an extremely dangerous defect with this vehicle. the jeep is out of control until it comes to a stop.

Death wobble 2007 jeep wrangler 4-door: unable to drive vehicle due to violent shaking starting at 50 mph regardless of road conditions, bumps or potholes. jeep serviced at 35,000: steering damper and left side ball joints replaced (under warranty). problem solved for the time being. at 60,000 (no longer under warranty) we have the same problem, violent shaking between 50-60 mph. looks and feels like the front wheels are falling off. it is incredibly unsafe.

At highway speeds if the slightest bump is hit the vehicle starts shaking into what can only be described as a death wobble. the only way to stop this is to quickly slow to under 15 mph. mechanic replaced balljoints and steering dampner to fix the problem. steering dampner has been modifed by chrysler becasue they know of this issue.

 1. during normal driving conditions at speeds above 50mph the front suspension will sometimes go into a violent oscillation. the steering wheel, shimmys so violently that it cannot be controled. the entire vehicle feels like it is coming apart. not a simple wheel balance shimmy, this is a dangerous violent oscillation. 2. it gets progressivly worse as time goes on. 3. it was taken back to the dealership, and they replaced the steering stabilizer which made the problem better, but it came back slightly, and progressively got worse, and worse. there is some underlying problem that the steering stabilizer is masking.

2007 jeep wrangler unlimited - front end shakes violently at or above 55 mph after hitting small bump in road. steering wheel shakes back and forth violently, feels like wheels are goign to fall off or car will flip over - complete loss of control unless you slow down to 35mph - which is not easy to do on the highway in traffic. this occurs almost daily. to date we have replaced the track bar, replaced the tires, had the vehicle re-alligned and tires balanced. next step is to replace the steering stabilizer. so far no permanent fixes. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler. when driving over a bump in the road, the vehicle started shaking and vibrating. the wheels also moved to the left and right which caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. the first time the incident occurred, he was able to stop the vehicle and drive it to the dealer. the mechanic replaced the exhaust system and a steering arm damper with an oversized one. the brake lines and transmission were also repaired. the failures recurred continuously after the repairs were made. the dealer has unsuccessfully made 15 attempts to repair the vehicle. the contact has refused to drive the vehicle due to the safety risk involved. the contact has requested that the manufacturer and the dealer allow him to return the vehicle; however, they agree that they are unable to diagnose the failure. the contact is certain that the failure is a manufacturers defect. the failure mileage was 3,000 and the current mileage was 55,000.

Severe wobble and oscillation in the steering and front suspension system. a small bump in the road, while driving anywhere between 35-70 mph can initiate a severe, violent shaking, and a complete loss of steering control. after replicating the problem on a private road, observers outside the vehicle noted that the front tires would completely leave the ground on each oscillation. many other jeep wrangler owners report similar incidents. *tr

Driving down the freeway, went across a bridge. the jeep started the death wobble. as soon as it went over the 'bump' on the bridge, the whole jeep started to violently shake, as if the whole thing was falling apart. i had to pull over on the freeway, come to a complete stop. its under warranty, took it to dealer. they suggested an after market steering stabilizer, which i paid for with my own money. the 'death wobble' continues. dealership telling me there's nothing wrong. im pursing the matter. *tr

I have noticed an increase in give / leeway in the steering column at approx 15,000 miles. the problem increased to the point where there is a popping felt through the steering wheel as well as both the accelerator and brake pedals when light pressure is placed on the front wheels while turning (turning at low speeds through traffic circles, going over uneven pavement while turning, small bumps in the road, etc). the feedback felt continues to get worse until the point it feels unsafe to operate the vehicle. i have had the vehicle back into the only 2 jeep dealerships within a 90 mile radius of my place of residence more than 3 times. at first the front end sway bar was replaced, to no avail. the 2nd time the steering column shaft was replaced, with only a short term alleviation of the problem. at first when the shaft was replaced, the steering felt as new (tight, with good control, and no feedback). after less than another 5,000 miles on the new shaft, the problem has returned and continues to get worse (currently at 23,000 miles). after speaking with the service manager at a local jeep dealership, he has indicated there is no problem aware within jeep to his knowledge, but has noted that he has had a few vehicles in his shop with the same problems. *tr

In november 2008, while driving approximately 60 mph, vehicle began to shake violently and uncontrollably after hitting a small bump in the road. vehicle had to be pulled off the road and stopped to abate the vibration and regain control. took to dealer and dealer replaced the steering stabilizer shock. then, in february 2008, the problem recurred. dealer recommended the installation of a heavy duty stabilizer shock. upon picking up the vehicle from the dealer, the problem was significantly worse. vehicle could not be driven on the highway without experiencing the death wobble, as it is commonly referred to. vehicle has been back to the dealer 4 more times for retorquing of the suspension and various other potential fixes. nothing has fixed or even mitigated the problem. vehicle's condition continues to worsen and is now virtually undriveable. even though under warranty, the dealership/chrysler will do nothing else. through research on this internet site and several jeep sites, i have learned that this is a common and dangerous problem. yet chrysler seems unwilling to openly consider a possible defect or even investigate my problem further. i called jeep/chrysler three times on 3/10/09 and was mysteriously disconnected during each call. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 4 door 4x4. while driving 50 mph, the steering shook violently. through research, the contact discovered that the failure was a death wobble, in which the vehicle's harmonic action causes the front end to vibrate. the vehicle will shimmy severely to the point where it needs to be slowed down or pulled over. the dealer stated that nothing could be done and found no failures with the vehicle. the vehicle is currently at her residence and has not been repaired. the failure and current mileages were 52,000.

Hello, i bought a new 2007 jeep wrangler and have been having what the industry calls the death wobble since the vehicle was new and it is now in for the 4th repair attempt and dealership is telling me that there is nothing they can do to fix it and that they can't replicate the problem this time, although they have now repaired it 3 times now over the last 2 years and were able to replicate the problem each of the other times. now my new vehicle warranty is within 200 miles of expiring now and i have a broken car that is in no way safe to drive. i will be driving to the mountains to ski this weekend in a snow storm so it should be scary as this is my only car. a simple search for my model year jeep online and death wobble will return an unlimited amount of information. obviously i am not the only consumer with this complaint. can you please advise whom i should contact to address this matter? i don't want to die or kill anyone. the death wobble occurs when i encounter a bump in the road at speeds over ~40mph and must be slowed to a near stop to make it quit. i can't seem to get anyone at chrysler to help me and the dealers can't fix it, what do i do? *tr

Drive a 2007 4-door wrangler. within 6 months of purchase, hit a small bump going around 50 mph on highway. car steering vibrated uncontrollably moving about 2-inches side to side. no shoulder available (caused other cars to swerve away from me) but after breaking, it eventually stopped. asked dealer service workers (while it was being looked at for second recall for computer/breaks) why this was happening, they claimed that is what jeeps do. happened 4 more times until a witness from the road pulled me over to tell me he thought my right front wheel was going to come off. jeep claimed to have never heard of it before. (there are website about death wobble everywhere). brought to dealer, fixed tie rod. happened again, said it might be a bad tire. will be at my expense. called tire manufacturer, to start a file. *tr

2007 wrangler 4- door unlimited. popping felt through both steering column and gas/brake pedals when going over small bumps. no violent shaking like described in others...just a very uncomfortable popping. the popping has become increasingly more noticeable over a period of about 3,000 miles. the popping is now audible. it has been at jeep 3 times so far, with the only solution being to replace the tie rods to no avail. *tr

2007 jeep wrangler unlimited with approx. 15,000 miles. when driving between 40-50 mph and hit a small bump, front end begins a sustained violent shaking that requires the vehicle be nearly stopped before shaking goes away. has happened five times (highway on ramp, highway off ramp, straight driving on city street and on county road). initial dealer response was that they had not heard of this before and said it drove fine. two more incidents and a phone call to the dealer and they said that there is a huge problem with the four door jeep wrangler and that there is a national back order on the steering damper. i am on the list for these when they become available at the end of the month. *tr

I have a stock 2007 wrangler unlimited x,6spd. it is one year old with 24,000kms. at approx. 8,000 kms it started to have a severe wobble in the front end after hitting small bumps at approx. 70 kms or more. the shake is very harsh and hard to control, it is a serious safety issue, the dealership had no answers until recently they tell me that its the tires and i need to get new ones at my own expense. the goodyear rep says that there is no defect with the tires but that chrysler has simply put an insufficient tire on the vehicle...why is this my problem...my vehicle is not safe!!! *tr

I am the owner of a 2007 jeep wrangler and have had a major failure of the steering/suspension of the jeep. in researching this i find the complaint is a rather common failure. do a google of jeep death wobble and scan selected items of 19000 hits for jeeps made from the 1990's to present. the jeep has 9500 miles. the incidence occurred at about a speed of 40-55 miles per hour after riding over frost waves in the road. the jeep went into a violent vibration mode where steering was very difficult and the jeep was out of control. the jeep when slowed to about 30 the vibration disappeared and it was slowly driven to a jeep dealer (owl chrysler jeep) honesdale, pa. eleven days later the jeep was returned perhaps repaired but some things don't seem right. i have met another person with the same / similar problem and on the internet find many complaints of what is referred to as a death wobble. believe me a good description. had this occurred in winter weather, rain or on a curve i would perhaps be a statistic as there for a few seconds no control over the direction or steering of the vehicle. i believe that chrysler knows of this problem for what appears to be years and is still manufacturing vehicles with a design/material flaw. the repair number from owl is: r.o. number 24079 the parts replaced are: front lower control arms and bushings. old parts retained by dealer as perhaps warranty repair. the vehicle has never been driven off road and is basically babied. owl can be contacted at: owl chrysler jeep, inc 250 grandview avenue honesdale, pa 18431 570-253-2640 *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler 4x4. while driving 45 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle and it shifted from left to right. he drove into a ditch, but was able to drive to his residence at 5 mph. the vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the front differential bracket failed. the dealer would not repair the vehicle because it had a tire modification. the esp sensor was reprogrammed three times, but the brakes continued to lock. the manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to another dealer to have the front differential bracket replaced under warranty. the current mileage was 21,000 and failure mileage was 16.

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited x, automatic with 10,500 miles. i was traveling down an on ramp going about 40mph, light on the throttle and the jeep hesitated, all of the gauges (speedometer, etc) shut off (showed 0), then all of the dash lights came on. during that 2 second period, i had no power steering, brakes or control over the throttle of the jeep. this could have been much worse. i know there is a recall that covers this, but my jeep falls out of the production date to get it taken care of. the build date is feb. of 2007. i am not the only one with the problem and the current recall is not taking care of this issue. this needs to be address before someone (like my family) gets seriously hurt. http://www.jk-forum.com/showthread.php?t=2634. *tr

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler 4dr 4wd that has stalled twice while traveling at highway speeds. the vehicle has less than 6,000 miles and i've reported the problem to the dealer and they say they can't find anything wrong with it. the first occurrence occurred during the day while traveling at approximately 65mph for over an hour. the vehicle cut out, all the dash lights came on, i lost power steering, and within 3 seconds the vehicle re-started itself on its own. the second occurrence occurred several months later while traveling at 70mph for over an hour. the incident occurred at night and the same thing happened. all the sudden the engine cut out, i lost headlights, and within 3 seconds the vehicle came back on and everything was fine. again, i reported to the dealer, at they couldn't find anything. *tr
