Fuel spills out of the spout when i fill up my 2007 jeep wrangler.
02/06/2011
While fueling my 2007 jeep wrangler when the pump clicks off gas pours out of my tank and has splashed all over me several times. this is very dangerous and happens every time i get gas. the car and myself can catch fire. this cannot wait until a tragedy occurs.

Jk/ gas tank overflows/will not shut off. on more then 1 occasion the gas tank on my 2007 jk jeep wrangler has failed to shut off when filling up and spills all over the the rear of the jeep and the ground. 2 jeep dealers in fairfax, va have told me that i needed a new tank. i have an extended warranty with intercontinental warranty service (iws) and they refuse to authorize the work. i am in the process of canceling the warranty and filing a complaint against them. a of right now i still need a gas tank but cannot find one online, seems only dealers have them right now for 2007-2010 model years. also the soft top leaks very bad at the top of the door/roof pillars both sides when it rains. also have had this in to the same 2 jeep dealers and both say i need a to as it is a design flaw. both has leak specialists look at it and replace header and door seals but still leaks just as bad. as a life long jeep owner i am completely fed up with the jeep brand. a little searching on the internet tells me that these 2 issues are well known but that jeep is refusing to address them so people like me have to pay more money out of pocket. these 2 issues are clearly safety related, gas spilling out and hitting a hot exhaust is a major problem, the same with water getting into the electrical system.

2007 jeep wrangler jk unlimited, every time you put fuel in the tank it belches about a quarter gallon of fuel back out the spout and all over the vehicle and person filling the vehicle. no matter how you try to fill it does it every time. this is a common problem with all wranglers 2007-2010. jeep jk forum has hundreds of hits with complaints on this problem. consequences are fuel on the ground, vehicle and person will lead to a fire and injury. jeep is aware of this but does nothing wlith a recall tanks need to be replaced. i have entered today date but this is occuring year round.
