While snowblowing my driveway with my john deere l108 tractor the engine seized. the john deere retailer states it's due to lack of lubrication. i have done all required services and check the oil before every use. my local john deere retailer states they replace 5 of these engines a month and that john deere used the wrong engine for this tractor. the retailer states the briggs and stratton engine in these tractors are only good for around 100 hours and they were amazed mine made it to 130 hours. the retailer states i need a new engine at a cost of $1,600.00 i ordered and replaced the engine myself with an oem replacement. i called john deere for assistance. they would not help at all. tractor serial number. briggs and stratton 18.5hp engine. old part is available. *tr
