Defect SummaryThe open design guide sleeve for the plunger in the engine injection pump may contain a steel burr that can lodge between the guide sleeve and the plunger causing an increase in stress at a notch in the sleeve and resulting in cracking of the sleeve.
Consequence SummaryThe cracked guide sleeve may bind the fuel control rack,resulting in a loss of engine speed control.
