Dt*: the contact stated the travel trailer had a formaldehyde smell coming from the construction material. the formaldehyde caused the contact to be sick for one week and the epa stated that formaldehyde could cause cancer and respiratory problems. the dealer determined that the trailer had this problem, but could not do anything about it and the odor would go away in two years. the manufacturer denied the claim.*ak updated 10/31/2006 - the camper was tested and it was determined that the vapor was above the epa's recommended exposure . the camper registered, at it's highest level, 0.46 ppm and the recommended limit is 0.1 ppm. the consumer contacted the dealer and asked that the manufacturer to either remove the components containing formaldehyde or repurchase the camper from the consumer. the general manager at the dealer refused to talk to the consumer or return his phone calls. the customer rep at keystone said that keystones position was that there was nothing wrong with the camper. *nm
