Defect SummaryKeystone is recalling 161,250 my 2004-2007 fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation. the refrigerator may have a defect in the boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
Consequence SummaryIf this solution is exposed to an ignition source under certain specific circumstances, it can result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective SummaryKeystone is working with dometic to repair these refrigerators (please see 08e032). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or keystone at 1-866-425-4369.

Defect SummaryOn certain fifth wheel travel trailers, a liquid propane (lp) line for the slide room may be too close to the tire.
Consequence SummaryThis could cause an increased risk of property damage and possible fire.
Corrective SummaryDealers will reroute the lp line away from the tire. the recall began on december 27, 2007. owners may contact keystone rv at 1-866-425-4369.

Defect SummaryCertain fifth wheel trailers built with 16 steel wheels may leak at the valve stem during inflation or when checking the air pressure due to improper seating of the valve stem. some models have aluminum wheels with a steel spare and only the spare is affected. indication of the defect occurs when applying sideways pressure to the valve stem (such as checking the tire pressure). air will leak through the valve hole in the rim.
Consequence SummaryContinuing to pull a vehicle with improperly inflated tires will result in poor vehicle handling and increased risk of property damage and a a vehicle crash could occur if the tire fails as a result of under-inflation.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the snap-in valve stem with a bolt-in valve stem. the recall began on july 2, 2007. owners may contact keystone rv at 1-866-425-4369.

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 keystone everest trailer. the contact stated that the boiler is bad on the refrigerator and needs to be replaced. dometic placed a covering around the refrigerator, but the contact feels this may not completely eliminate the failure. the refrigerator coolant still leaked out and the contact had to replace the refrigerator because the repair failed.rl

The trailer was being normally driven at legal highway speeds and was properly loaded. the curbside rear leaf spring hanger welds broke completely loose from the subframe. the hanger became wedged in the hole left in the subframe. resulting in significant damage to the trailer suspension. at this time, the damage is still being evaluated. any old parts will be retained for possible litigation purposes. *tr
TIRES

I own a 2007 keystone everest fiver. the tires on it are the mission's 235-80-16 load range e.i've had two blowouts, the first was'nt that bad but the second one done some damage done the side of the camper.i contacted the tire manufacturer and was told that because the tires were five years old that they could'nt or should i say would'nt do anything about it.i explained to them that i purchased the unit new off the lot in 2007. i was told that the date on the tires was 2006 and that the life span of trailer tires was 3 to 5 years that it didnt matter if they were in service or was waiting to be put on the units. so people everyone needs to look at the dates on the tires when they go to purchase a new camper because it may have older tires on it and not know about it. i know that i will be looking. it's not fun setting beside the road trying to change a flat with truckers coming by you at 80 mph and the camper on a jack with no tire on the camper shaking side to side wondering if its going to fall of the jack before you get the tire back on.
