Defect SummaryKeystone is recalling certain recreational vehicles equipped with dimplex electraflame, symphony, or optiflame branded electric fireplaces, stoves, and fireplace inserts. the plug in remote control receiver for the fireplace can overheat.
Consequence SummaryAn overheated receiver could cause a fire.
Corrective SummaryKeystone is working with dimplex and dimplex will provide owners a free replacement plug-in remote control kit. the safety recall began on january 28, 2011. owners may contact dimplex north america customer service at 1-888-346-7539.

Defect SummaryKeystone is recalling 161,250 my 2004-2007 fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation. the refrigerator may have a defect in the boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
Consequence SummaryIf this solution is exposed to an ignition source under certain specific circumstances, it can result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective SummaryKeystone is working with dometic to repair these refrigerators (please see 08e032). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or keystone at 1-866-425-4369.

 2005 montana 5th wheel trailer with dometic refrigerator. *nj the consumer stated after the recall was performed, the refrigerator stopped working, due to a fatigue crack in the boiler tube which caused ammonia to leak. *jb

 Tl*the contact owns a 2005 keystone montana fifth wheel. the vehicle has a dometic refrigerator, model rm2862. the contact stated that ammonia sprayed from the back of the refrigerator. a technician discovered a crack in the back of the unit. the contact received a recall letter regarding this same issue. the nhtsa campaign id number and part number were unknown. updated 11/6/08 *cn

 Tl* the contact owns a 2005 keystone montana. the trailer was raised four inches from the truck bed when normally it was raised eight inches. the failure was due to the frame work being cracked. the camper was repaired. however, it failed again, and was currently being repaired. the contact has pictures and repair invoices. the failure and current mileages were unknown.*ak the consumer wanted to know if his information was received. updated 06/19/07. *jb the consumer stated that there is also king pin frame failure on the rv. the consumer provided various emails pertaining to the contact with the dealer for repairs and of various consumers with the same problem. the consumer wants to reimbursed for repairs that were not covered under the warranty however the dealer stated that no refund will be issued;the warranty does not cover the repairs due to the fact the rv frame was altered which voids the warranty. updated 06/08/07 *tr the consumer stated that a friend noticed that the pin box was not level and that the left side was higher than the right side. the consumer provided pictures of the defect and some of the complaints from montana owners club discussion forum. updated 07/06/07 *tr

 Tl*the contact owns a 2005 keystone montana 3295rk 5th wheel. the welding mechanic stated that over time the solid tubing that has air space in the middle wore out and caused cracks in the king pin box. the mechanic observed additional stress fractures, and the vehicle was currently waiting to be repaired. the king pin box was attached to the hitch and was connected to the vehicle. the mechanic stated that the beam should be 6 inches , but because of the stress fractures the beam was 4 inches. the contact notified keystone, and was advised that the warranty did not cover the repair costs. the contact stated that the trailer has no mileage, fuel, engine, or cylinders.*ak
