Defect SummaryCertain travel and fifth wheel trailers have incorrect information on the federal identification tag and the tire and loading information label.
Consequence SummaryOn the travel trailers, the gvwr and the axle rating is higher than the actual ratings for the axles installed. loading the vehicle beyond the gvwr could result in poor vehicle handling and increased risk of property and a vehicle crash. on the fifth wheel trailers, the tire load range and maximum inflation data on the tag is incorrect. over-inflating a tire could lead to personal injury and property damage.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the federal identification labels and the tire and loading information labels. the recall began on june 26, 2007. owners may contact keystone at 1-866-425-4369.

Third carlisle radial trail tire to blow on our three axle 34 foot rv trailer on september 14, 2009 while returning from minneapolis, traveling west on interstate 80 at 10:15 a.m. at about mile marker 272, near the east side of the kearney ne. exit, the center road (driver) side carlisle tire on our three axle rv trailer blew out. we pulled over as soon as possible (within 150 feet) and replaced the blown tire/wheel with the spare and continued on to julesburg colorado, where we had the blown tire replace with a non carlisle tire. after the tire was replaced we continued home to colorado springs, colorado. we had spent the night of 13 september on the west side of omaha ne, and had been on the road for about 3 hours with 3 stops before the third tire blew. note: i carry a compressor and two tire gauges, and always check the tire pressure for 62 to 65 psi (cold) each day before traveling. the estimated max weight of the rv trailer on all of these trips was around 9,000 lbs. we always keep our speed below 65mph while traveling with the rv trailer. *tr

My keystone raptor 3814 had 2 blow outs that cause alot of damage. i made sure that the tires were properly inflated and that i wasn't over weight and i still had blow outs. the carlie 15 d rated tires that came on my raptor are too small. they only will hold #2550 per tire times 6 tires is less than my raptors to gvwr of #16000!!!! i have since fixed my raptor and changed all of my tires to 16 e rated tires ad wheels and have had no problems. now, i talked to keystone's area rep and was told nothing was wrong. now keystone offers 16 e rated tires and 8 lug axles. why, andy boussard of keystone told me people have asked to be able to get this so they added it to the options. i don't believe that because every time that i pull into a rv site, everyone with a raptor comes over and tells me about their blow outs and asks me where to get the 16 rims. i think keystone should provide all of us new 8 lug axles and 16 rims and tires for free. 5 of my e rated tires can carry more then all 6 of the d rated tires that came on the trailer. lastly, i have spoken to robin with carlise because my rv dealer said that the tires where bad and carlise should pay for the repairs from my blow outs. robin has declined my rv dealers request and she sent me to this web site for help. she told me that keystone put on too small of tires from the beginning. i just need to pay my rv dealer, get reimbursed for my 16 tires, and have a safe nice looking raptor, like i bought! please help this go somewhere. thank you. *tr
