| The slightest touch of the gas will cause it to lurch forward, but also it lags, you can push the acceleration deep and still not much response. usually this is what happens i'll back out of the driveway, put into drive, touch the gas, and it will lurch. back off the gas lurch again. full stop and then the car will run just fine. i have had the car into the dealer they say they can not find a problem. *tr | |||

| Tl* - the contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a stop the vehicle would not accelerate. this was an intermittent problem. if the vehicle did accelerate, it would do so very slowly and the rpms were running as though the consumer was traveling at an accelerated speed. the contact stated that this could happen anytime of the day. the contact stated that sometimes when trying to pass another vehicle on the highway at a speed of 60 mph the vehicle didn't accelerate into overdrive. the contact took the vehicle to dealership on several occasions,the most recent being 11/27/06. the contact did have the service mechanic perform a test drive and he did notice the problem with the acceleration. the contact stated that the dealership has contacted her and told her to come in and pick up her vehicle, she was told that they had to reprogram the computer system in the vehicle. *ak updated 1/22/2007 - the dealer returned the vehicle to the consumert with any repairs being made. *nm | |||

| 2006 kia amanti has on numerous occasions has a lag/lurch problem. the vehicle will on occasions not engage the transmission when the accelerator was depressed. on other occasions the vehicle will lurch forward while applying the brake. *jb | |||
