ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS

Our brake lights went out first. then when replacing fuse the car cut off. found out the ignition fuse blew out. replaced it and brake lights continued to fail. whenever we replaced one the other blew out. this happened first on a trip we made to biloxi, miss. then again at the auto parts store where we bought fuses. then again coming out of a parking garage. without brake lights we could have been rearended. when the car died we had no power steering, no lights and the brakes were very hard to push. i feel this car could have caused us to be in an accident which could have resulted in injury or death.*ak

I have returned this vehicle several times to the dealership and have also met with the kia representative . they acknowledge a problem, however have not made any repaires. i have also filed a complaint with the bbb auto line as instructed in the owners guide. the issue is one of safety due to the fact that the vehicle cannot maintain a constant speed on the highway. i was told by mr. bill wyatt, the kia representative that at speeds greater than 70 mph the vehicle defect is not as noticeable and therefore i should exceed my states maximum speed limit. in regards to the rear hatch, i again have made several attempts to have repaires made . the vehicle is equiped with an interior release latch that failes to open the hatch 95% of the time.*ak

Tires failed due to mal alignment on all four wheels. when taken to be alighned, they could not be done with the adjustments on the car. additional shims etc had to be added. we left on vacation with only 8900 miles on the car and returned with 13000 on the car. the dealer would not cover this problem under warranty. i notified the manufacturer of this problem. this is a safety problem due to not being able to adjust wheels with the equipment on the new car. you could not tatally see the failure until the car was placed up on a rack for inspection.i don't know if this is an isolated case or a major problem for kia. i have notified them and demanded re-imbursement in the amount of $430.57, since we didn't even have the car for a year.*ak (dot number: yola yp7 tiresize: p185/65r14)
