| 4-wd not working, hubs not locking. engine is straining as if in 4wd, indicator light is lit, leading you to believe you are safely in 4wd, but the back tires are spinning and the front tires are not turning. the dealer has checked the truck and ordered parts...that was 2 weeks ago, and dealer has no idea when the parts will be in. kia has not responded to the dealer's inquiry. the wire harness that was replaced took a week because kia sent a faulty harness as a replacement and the part had to be reordered.*ak | |||

| Vehicle is defective. brakes pulled to the left, brake system was replaced three times. power windows would not go all the way down, there was a space between the window and track/ windshield washer didn't work. consumer had a blowout, the back tires split in half. car would not start on several occasions, battery and starter replaced. consumer was told by kia that poor connections in the fuel injection wire harness circuit could be causing the engine to stall. *ak *ml | |||

| In june of 2004 my husband was on his way to drop something off to me at work. him and my son made a right onto one of the back roads. they had to come around a big corner he could not have been going 25 mph. the replacement tires i had purchased at sears, ameritrac suv tires p20575r15 the right front tire blew out a hole the size of a fist on the front side of the tire both my son and husband heard the bang. the vehicle was thrown out of control went into a ditch did a half roll on its side took out 6 mailboxes continued on all four wheels for about a hundred feet came to stop on other side of road. the vehicle just had been serviced and tires rotated from back to front a week before and looked great the police officer at the scene said there was no objects in the road to cause failure and my son and husband did not feel anything or see anything in the road. my suv was a total loss. my son had a hole in his knee were the seat came up and jab him but was not taken to hospital i handled it at home. i have the tire and pictures of the scene and suv. i have been trying to find somebody to make aware of this issue i hope i finally did. i did have the tire looked at by three mechanics i was told possible beaded blowout. there was still a great deal of tread left on tires. *nm | |||

| Traveling through the mountains of kentucky on a mild day - temp around 60, the left rear tire treads separated, causing the vehicle to immediately veer off of the roadway while traveling at the posted speed limit of 70 mpg. in appearance, the tread had a 2-inch wide by 1-inch deep by 2 foot long gash removed from the tire. all other tires had cracks deep into the sidewalls and were, as a precaution, replaced with a set of goodyear tires. the tire has been videotaped and photographed. *ak (tiresize: p205/75r15)( dot number: tire size: p205/75r15 ) | |||

| While exiting the highway on an off ramp, approx. 20-30 mph, the left front tire blew out on the side of the tire forcing the vehicle to slam into a guardrail and damaging the front corner and side of vehicle from front to back. there were no injuries.insurance covered the damage and also tried to contact manufacturer of tire for damages but they denied any responsibility. the car only had 12000 miles and very little tire wear and the insurance adjuster said it should have been caused from a defective tire. the company denied and we had to pay. just wondering if there are any other complaints on file...maybe something should be done.
