Defect SummarySabersport is recalling 16,270 combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies of various part numbers sold for use as aftermarket equipment for various passenger vehicles. these headlamps fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment. these lamps do not contain the required amber side reflectors.

 The air condition was not cooling the vehicle, the engine light illuminated and it was determined the gas cap was loose, there was an electrical short in the windows which caused them not to work, the purge valve leaked, the hold light flashed at times, the left rear door did not open from the inside, it was discovered the door lock was out of adjustment, the cup holder was coming apart, the brakes were noisy and the master cylinder was leaking. *scc *jb

 Electrical system failed and caused several components to malfunction. the hazard warning signal light engaged by itself, which caused a rear end collision and drained the battery. also, engine light continuously illuminated. the cause of the failure was undetermined because the dealership was unable to duplicate the problem.*ak

 Noticed after washing car that right head lamp clear cover was fractured on the inside. dealer replaced cover. second time was 12/27/01, noticed while travling in front of kia driven by wife while i was in another vehicle that the right head lamp beam was much higher than the right. was blinding so i had dealer adjust beam.*ak
