| Defect Summary | Land rover is recalling 12,353 my 2008 lr2 vehicles built with a sunroof. failure of either the left or right hand side sunroof guide rail can occur when the sunroof is operated. excessive stress can develop in the over-molded bracket which could lead to cracking during normal sunroof operation. if cracks occur and propagate in a certain area of the guide rail, fragments of the plastic over-mold material may detach from the guide rail and obstruct the operation of the sunroof. | |||||||||||||||
| Consequence Summary | The obstruction could cause the sunroof, when operated, to bind, twist, and potentially detach from the operating mechanism. if the sunroof is subsequently cycled and a vertical force applied, i.e., a customer manually aiding the roof to close or wind lift, the glass panel can become fully detached from the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury. | |||||||||||||||
| Corrective Summary | Dealers will install retention inserts to both sides of the glass panel guide rails. the recall began on february 29, 2008. owners may contact land rover at 1-800-637-6837. | |||||||||||||||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2008 land rover lr2. the contact stated the fuel gauge would suddenly move to empty and he was unsure of how much fuel was in the fuel tank. the contact also stated that when adding gasoline to the fuel tank, fuel was pouring out of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the fuel line had split and it was replaced. in regards to the fuel gauge, the dealer replaced two sensors, water pump and another fuel line. the failure was triggered during cold weather. the mirrors also stopped moving when the contact shift in reverse. the mirrors were replaced. the air conditioner also stopped functioning and caused the vehicle to overheat and the fan was replaced. the vin was unavailable. the current mileage was approximately 51,500. the failure mileage was approximately 20,000. | |||

| Hello , i am a former us marine disabled and this land rover lr2 hse has a big problem with windshield washer pumps it has two pumps one for the head lights and another for the windshield i just bought this vehicle in may of 2012 at teddy volkswagen in bronx ,new york and i live in yonkers,ny . i called the dealer to fix the problem they say they have to bring the down the front bumper down to fix a windshield pump that cost $24.26 for a windshield washer front pump its outrages how much this windshield washer pump cost and the only want that can fix it is the land rover dealer a $ 24.26 windshield pump for a land rover lr2 hse i think there should be a recall on this vehicle it doesn't make sense the cost of fixing or replacing a windshield washer pump to remove the front bumper to remove the front bumper !!please recall the this vehicle with this major problem land rover lr2 hse 2008. please help me out ,i served my country with lot of pride and honor and respect .
