Pulled into parking lot and car stalled. tried restarting and passerby shouted to stop reporting fuel gushing out from under car. had car towed and fire department clean up fuel. had this happened on the highway car could have caught fire. parts saved. problem resulted from cracked connector on fuel tank sending unit. this resulted in the fuel line separating from the fuel tank so that the fuel pump was forcing fuel out and it was spreading all over the underside of the car. sending unit was replaced and problem fixed

The fuel tank connector got disconnected as we tried to start the car. this resulted in fuel leaking on the garage floor. this happened when the key was turned. fire department was called to mop up the fuel spill and to verify that the car is safe. car was taken to dealer to be repaired. dealer wasn't sure what caused the problem but as per the dealer, it was due to the fuel connector getting dis-connected and he installed the fuel connector again. *tr

1). disconnected plug to generator which resulted in electric failure in navigation system and stereo - fixed. 2). vehicle continues to veer to the right while driving, however after each complaint and servicing to land rover we are told there is no alignment problem when they drive the car. 3). repeat of the same problem, approximately three weeks later - dealer stated there was a recall on the stereo/navigation system, which is what initially caused the problem - fixed 3). 9-14-2005 vehicle stalled while driving downhill in heavy traffic in a canyon, leaving me with no brakes or power steering, almost veering off the mountain. started engine again and it stalled again only 30 feet further - called land rover and was informed there is a recall that is supposed to start october 14 - it is a fuel ignition problem - very dangerous - and needs a new fuel tank. recall # 05v37600. *nm

Fuel leak while driving. i was driving through a mountain pass (during extreme fire danger btw) with the windows open. i smell gas... i pull over when i finally can about 2 miles later. i see gas pouring out the right rear of the car, on top of the hot exhaust pipe... causing the gas to vaporize and smoke. i opened the fuel door and removed the fuel cap. sounds like a liquid was violently boiling came from the filler pipe. a passing motorcyclist who was behind me stopped to let me know he thought i was also leaking gas. the problem continued as i tried to drive another leg of 3 miles or so. finally i stopped the car for about 30 minutes. when i restarted the car, the problem seemed to go away. major safety issue here... to me it seems like there was some pump at work, pumping gas from the tank out to the overfill hole of the filler pipe.... i have no other explanation for what was happening. apparently i am not the only one with this problem... others have talked about it on lore owner forums. *nm
