Defect SummaryToyota is recalling certain model year 2010 hs250h lexus vehicles for failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 301, fuel system integrity. when a vehicle is rotated on its longitudinal axis to each successive increment of 90 degrees following an impact crash test conducted under s6.2, fuel spillage shall not exceed the limits of s5.6. following a rear impact crash test performed under s6.2(b), when the vehicle was rotated, the amount of fuel spillage exceeded the limits of s5.6.

 Tl-the contact owns a 2010 lexus hs250. the vehicle was repaired at an authorized dealer for the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 10v285000, fuel system, gasoline:storage. upon receiving the vehicle he was driving approximately 65 mph when he began to hear a rattle coming from under the vehicle. after approximately 1 week he would not longer hear the rattle. he then began to notice the check engine light illuminating on the dashboard. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where he was told he must not be tightening the gas cap. the failure continued to recur so the vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer where he was again told he must not be tightening the gas cap all the way. the failure continues. the failure mileage was 6,000 and the current mileage was 9,500. sm.
