Defect SummaryPolymer process development is recalling 931 units of back glass, p/no. fb20415zpy, sold as replacement equipment for use on 1999-2004 lexus rx300 vehicles. the glass fails to conform to the automotive glazing material requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 205, glazing materials.
Consequence SummaryThe purpose of this standard is to reduce injuries resulting from impact to glazing surfaces.
Corrective SummaryPolymer will notify owners and replace the affected glass free of charge. the recall began on april 18, 2008. owners may contact polymer toll-free at 800-510-9879.

 My lexus rx300 2000 the sun visors keeps falling down which prevents me to drive in which i get distracted when i am driving, it is a concern, since it can cause an accident. my father in law owns also owns a toyota camry in which in recent days he got a notification of the same problem. lexus is the same company as toyota, and i was wondering if you got any notification of many sunvisor problems along with the model highlander which is the same as my car lexus rx300. this vehicles where made from 1999-2003. *tr

 Consumer lost consciousness briefly which resulted in accident.*mr as a result the driver hit a road sigh which caused the windshield to break. the top of the drivers head hit the moon roof and shattered the glass. as a result thousands of glass shards became embedded into the consumer's scalp. the consumer believes this was not safety glass. the driver also sustain eye injury when shards of glass resulted in a hemorrhage and scarred eyeball. opthamologist recommended plastic surgery. *nm

 If the wireless remote is used to lock the vehicle and a person in it, then after 30 seconds the security system activates and the person in the vehicle is trapped. none of the door handles or windows will operate. *ak
