| 1a. after putting the key in to key hole, if your start the car right away, it will give you a failure check vsc system orshift to park before starting even it was already parked. 1b. power drained if radio was on for 10-20 min and car will not start 2. it usually happens when the car is cooled. i had to wait for a few seconds after putting the key in the ignition before turning start to get it start. 2 years after having the car, the starter battery was replaced with the similar situation described above. dealer now claims that battery needs replacement again. 3. replacing starter batter was done the first time. i really doubt that battery died out so quickly, so i've done a bit research (provided link below) and found quite a few talked about inverter failure causing similar issues, and it not only result in high cost to replace the inverter, possibly life because vehicle brought to stop when in motion. http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f136279/0 please kindly investigate. thank you. | |||

| No failure, yet. but vehicle (lexus rx400h - 2006) is a hybrid. there is a separate cooling system for the hybrid components (inverter, and electric motors in transaxle). coolant is leaking from the transaxle. if all coolant leaks out, the inverter will fail. without the inveter, there is no power - no electric steering, no electric brakes, and no motive power to the wheels. additonally, the coolant may leak somewhere or onto something that may short out or cause a fire. this is not a leak from a worn out coolant hose, but directly from the transaxle. being a hyrid, the availability of electric power is absolutely essential. there have been reports of inverters failing (just check the lexus. toyota and other hybrid forums) on the highway at speed, leading to a complete loss of power. to the best of my knowledge, there have been no injuries or accidents, but the potential is frightening. | |||

| 2006 lexus rx400h (and other toyota/lexus models). anti bacterial / mould coating on a/c evaporator begins shedding with age/time and blows white powder/dust through vehicle. lexus says it's aluminum hydroxide, and it's perfectly safe. how can it be safe to inhale / ingest a foreign substance? has lexus / toyota done any studies regarding aluminum hydroxide. if it's safe, why does lexus / toyota now offer (and install in new vehicles) an a/c evaporator without the coating? | |||

| Driving down the road. stop at a stop sign on a very steep hill. start to pull out on to a very busy road. while giving the car gas to go it completely goes dead. nothing will work. put the car in neutal and backed it down the steep hill to a flat surface. without power steering or brakes. | |||

| As i was pulling into my parking space at work the car suddenly accelerated as i was braking. the car would not stop no matter how hard i pressed on the brake pedal. the acceleration caused me to slam into the wall of my office building and bounced the car back 3-4 feet. at the time of the incident i was in total shock and had hit my leg against the panel during the crash. as the day progressed i started feeling more and more pain and discomfort throughout my neck, shoulders and chest area. this was the first time i have ever felt a sudden acceleration of the car without pressing on the gas pedal. now that this has happened i have realized occasionally when i press on the brake pedal the car doesnt slow down immediately. whether this has anything to do with the incident is beyond me. the car was later towed to longo lexus in el monte, ca for i no longer feel safe driving it. nothing has been done to correct this failure. | |||
