| Terminal issues with the transmission in my 2000 lincoln ls ! i and everyone else are having issues with the transmissions in the lincoln ls models. both the v-8 & v-6 models have constant issues with transmission failures & puts the owners at risk while driving these vehicles ! i was passing a semi when my failure happened and the car lost complete power and we almost got hit head on by an oncoming car (that was nowhere in sight when i started to pass this vehicle) ! it takes no effort to discover that this is a habitual issue with this vehicle. i was a lincoln salesman for over 3 years and i know that lincoln builds a great product, and reliability isn't an issue with any of their other models. please dont allow lincoln to address this issue by saying ,well if your over 100k miles , we wont address it, becauseit will force us to go the route of spending $3500 to replace it with a genuine lincoln tranny then they are happy . this is a safety issue , because this car will basically shut itself down when it encounters tranny issues , & lincoln is going to say they don't know there is an issue ............c'mon ! | |||

| I have a 2000 lincoln ls 3.9l v8 with approximately 115,000 miles and i have been experiencing unintended acceleration in my vehicle. although the experience is different than the toyotas that accelerated to 100+ mph it may be able to provide some insight upon what is going on with the current problem at hand. first i have to note that my vehicle does not have a check engine light on and seems to be in good working order being that i drive it every day to and from school. i am very attached to my car and service it regularly. when i start my car put it in gear and press on the gas the car will start to rev uncontrollably and accelerate, i have to jam on the breaks to stop the vehicle while this is happening. when i jam the transmission into park the car continues to rev without input from me but the acceleration stops. the car has been to the dealership for a fuel injection service because i thought it may be the throttle getting stuck. to no avail it didn | |||
