| This vehicle has issues with the transmission shifting and/or not shifting, it shifts back and forth between high and low gears until it stalls, this time it stalled while in front of a large tractor trailer. it stalled and lost all power including steering and brakes nearly causing a crash. when i took it to the dealership they told me it was a known issue and could do nothing to fix the issue as it is a glitch in the computer. | |||

| My car has numerous parts that tear up repeatedly, within a 6 months time. valve cover gasket had replaced twice within a 6 months time. the coil packs go up very often. i had panel buttons just tear up for no reason three times! wheel caps replaced numerous times. overheating issues, door locking issues, battery replaced twice within 2 years time. ac issues, (i never used my ac..at all) . this car has a lot of problems on the t.s.bulletin. i contacted ford in reference to the multiple issues i was having with the car, the company representatives told me to take the complaint to the establishment of which i had been dealing with. then they said lincoln is an independent owned establishment so i am totally confused by this whole ordeal, they know that they have had a lot of multiple problems out of that car. and they refuse to recall some of those (as i would say) hazardous issues. i was at the dealer 2 weeks ago, i was conversing with a rep. at the dealership and he was telling me how the lincoln ls was their most problem vehicle, and cash maker for repairs. (oh by the way.......i researched to find this site. to answer the question in the consumer section) | |||

| (02) lincoln ls issues. (110,000 miles currently) ford/lincoln should be held accountable for this product. the amount of problems from many customers around the country is simply amazing. for ford to not send out recalls on the ls is simply a lack of professional business. the following problems are not isolated to myself but rather by thousands around the country. - clock spring replaced 2 times. $600 each - transmission problems, unfixed at this point. will cost $3,000 + - window mods replaced 4 times. $400 each time - engine coils bad. $600 fix, and still doesnt run right. - thurmistate issues. replaced once for $300 and doing it again. - both front inside door handles replaced. $400 each time. these were specifically designed to fail after time after seeing them! - loud clunking coming from front passenger wheel. looked at with no answer why. - car has shut down electrically driving down interstate multiple times only to start up after sitting a while. very dangerous due to losing power steering. no answer to why. | |||

| I own a 2002 lincoln ls. the transmission seems to be a bit of a problem with this car. while i was driving on the highway, my transmission decides to give up on me in the middle of traffic while driving at 70mph. i also lost my power steering and my lights shut off. since this happened at night, the last bit was a bit of a problem. i feel that this car is not very safe and i feel that lincoln should do something to fix this. *tr | |||

| My 2002 lincoln ls v8 has broken down in numerous ways. all ignition coils have had to be replaced, two window motors, airbag connector clip, my tie rod ends are bad, my car has actually shut off completely while driving up the 15 north three times while my son was in the car with me and now my transmission has completely stopped working. when it came to fixing the airbag connector problem lincoln told me it was fixed and i went to pick up my car and it was still doing the same thing the three beeps so they fixed it for free and then told me my instrument panel on one side was burned out but the lights seems to work on it when i turn them on. they wanted to charge me 800 dollars for that but i refused. the ignition coil replacement was roughly 1000 dollars and i am waiting on my estimate for my transmission. both window motors were 200 dollars a piece. i have had numerous taillights replaced and actually had a door lock jam closed on me. i truly feel that this car is a safety hazard for me and my son if it turns completely off at 65 miles an hour on a freeway with my son in the car. *tr | |||

| 2002 lincoln ls 4.0 v8 (50k miles) - transmission disengages at any speed. also, it shifts very hard, when driving and when putting shift lever into reverse and drive. lastly, it surges when in gear at idle, and upon deceleration, refuses to downshift until high (3-3500 rpms) which creates a sensation of being pulled down the road. dealer cannot replicate problems. i have seen on multiple discussion groups that this vehicle has problems with the solenoid pack and valve body creating symptoms like those described above. it is dangerous to drive the vehicle like this. *jb | |||
