| Driving down the side street and my car goes into limp mode. reads etc .start up will move about 1/4 of the block and does it again. had to keep turning it off and on to get home.once stop in the middle of the intersection. from what i have seen this is not unusual for ls. this is a safety concern. have not got my car fix because it is very expensive to fix. *tr | |||

| Tl- the contact owns a 2004 lincoln ls. while driving over a speed bump and depressing the break pedal, the rpms began to increase and the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. the contact applied excessive force to the brake pedal in order for the vehicle to stop accelerating. the failure occurred sporadically. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the technicians were unable to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer advised an engineer to inspect the vehicle. the engineer stated the throttle had to be replaced. approximately six years after the throttle was replaced the contact experienced the identical failure again. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 6,000. rvk | |||

| Lincoln ls 2004 - throttle body failure - engine fail safe mode - no parts available nationwide from october 2009 until present date march 4, 2010 - unsafe to drive and car remains at dealership with no date from ford for replacement as apparently they are trying to re-engineer and fix whatever is the problem. after looking on internet this is apparently a problem that is running throughout the entire ford line. it seems like this is in complete contrast to the problem that toyota is having in that without warning the engine shuts down to 20 to 30 miles per hour leaving you vulnerable on the highway and unable to warn anyone driving behind you that you have a problem that you have no control over throttle. many owners report cars jump forward or reverse without warning. *tr | |||

| Consumer request for ford to buy back 2004 lincoln ls which is experiencing problems with acceleration.***no answer required***. *mr the vehicle would stop accelerating, jerk and on several occasions, go into limp home mode. the dealer could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. the consumer requested ford to replace or a refund since the problem could not be fixed. the vehicle also displayed the following; when the cruise was on the vehicle would skip, the wrench light illuminated and the cruise would not work at that time, after a cold start, the wrench light illuminated and the engine had gone into limp mode. *sc the left turn signal would not cancel at times, the dealer replaced the multi-function switch. *jb | |||
