As soon as the warranty expired the vehicle bagan to have intermittent error messages about the parking brake needing service and the climate control began to blow only hot air. vehicle has very low miles, garaged meticulously, serviced. lincoln contacted about the issue and was told i needed to have dealer run diagnositcs and then they could know whether they may be able to help with repairs to climate control. paid 170.00 for diagnosics, dealer and lincoln refused to do anything sticking me with the bill. they made the excuse that it was my fault because it may have occured because i didnt drive it enough. i was shocked , its first time that ive heard suggested that taking care of something caused it to break! . rediculously poor customer satisfaction department.

2005 lincoln ls with brake failure . customer states the vehicle stopped when the she hit the accelerator. computer display showed service etc soon, and the parking brake warning light was on. *kb the consumer attempted to move the vehicle out of the lane of travel using the emergency brake release and the gear shift lever to release the brake but could not move the vehicle except to the side of the road with an extreme bucking motion. the consumer turned off the ignition and restarted the vehicle and the error messages were gone, and the vehicle drove normally. the consumer checked the vehicle and noticed the brakes and rotors were extremely hot. the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer, however they were unable to duplicate the problem the consumer experienced. the consumer stated the road was dry and there was no loose gravel that should have caused the anti-lock brakes to activate. *jb the consumer stated the same problem persists with brakes locking and the engine lost all throttle response, the vehicle was towed to the dealer and the dealer replaced the throttle positioning sensor. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 lincoln ls. while driving 70 mph, the computer within the vehicle activated the emergency brake. the vehicle is equipped with a brake by wire system. the contact stated that all of the instrument panel lights illuminated and the security alarm sounded. he pulled off the road, shut off, and then restarted the vehicle. he took it to the dealer and they replaced a relay in the vehicle, however, the failure recurred two weeks later. he returned to the dealer, but they did not repair the vehicle a second time. the failure mileage was 8,000 and current mileage was 9,000. updated 12-12-07. *kb the consumer stated the parking brake activated on its own. it could only be released by stopping the vehicle and then turning it off. updated *jb

I am having a problem with my 2005 lincoln ls v8 with advance trac. while driving the vehicle the abs system engages under normal dry driving conditions and stays on for over one minute. you can hear something like a motor and clicking leading up to the incident and this happens even when you are not on the brakes. when you do go to apply the brakes it is like you are on ice. the check advance trac light appears and the yellow trac control button flashes and than stays on solid. even when the car has come to a complete stop and than you proceed to drive it will do it again until the car is shut off and restarted. the system acts up out of the blue and you really never know when the brakes are going to fail. the vehicle has been taken to the dealer many times and they were able to see all the lights on the dash, but are not able to fix the problem. they have pulled codes for the problem but ford only advised them to reprogram the computer. they have done this multiple time and the problem is still not fixed. ford is giving me the run around and said they are not going to do anything for me. this is a very serious safety concern. the last time it happened i was getting off the highway and i nearly crashed my vehicle. i want to document this and try to find out if this is a widespread problem. *tr
