| Have a 2005 lincoln ls.. the chrome plating is seperating from the rims. this is breaking the seal causing air leaks and changing of flat tires.. have no confidence that the tires will stay inflated.. | |||

| The left rear wheel/tire assembly failed to hold air. a local tire merchant said that this is caused by the chrome plating separating from the aluminum alloy wheel. the dealer and lincoln-mercury said that the failure was due to brake dust getting on the outside of the wheel. they claimed that this was not a defect in the product and refused a warranty claim. they were unable to explain how dust on the outside of the wheel could cause the surface inside the tire to fail and leak air until the tire was flat. *tr | |||

| 2005 ls purchased new 09/05. had aftermarket wheels and tires replace for a better look. on 09/06, a year later, had to have wheel stud replaced. dealership billed me stating not under warranty because had wheels & tires replaced. just yesterday 11/12/06, same incident occurred again. only two studs have to be replaced this time. *nm | |||
