VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
08/14/201156000
I picked up my truck from dealership for recall and warrenty issues. drove an hour and a half, parked my car. returned home that hour and a half, came to a complete stop at a traffic light, close to home. while i was stopped the truck accellerated, now with both feet on the brake, i still hit the car ahead of me. fortunetly due to my quick reaction, the damage was only to my bumper. none to the other car. i called the dealership and asked them if when they had the dashboard all appart for 2 days, could they have done something? of course they said no. they told me that my foot was probally on both the accellerator and brake at the same time? i looked at it and they are not that close together. also i was already at a complete stop when it happend. i am to scared to get close to any car now. i have only drove the car as needed, for fear it might happen again. it's been 2 days now, it has not happend again. yet. i have been with this truck since it was new, this never happend before.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 5 mph, the brake was applied on the vehicle. however, the vehicle accelerated, causing the vehicle to collide with a garage door, causing substantial damage to the door. the vehicle was taken to a service dealer, who was unable to determine the problem. the contact expressed that the cause of the problem was that the brake pedal was too close to the accelerator pedal, causing inadvertent depression of the accelerator pedal when the brake was depressed.
