Stepped on brakes at an intersection and my 1998 lincoln navigator developed a mind of its own and accelerated wide open without my foot on the gas pedal as both of my feet were anchored on the brakes to keep me from flying out in front of an oncoming truck. my tires were smoking and i was still moving forward until i took the car out of gear. very terrifying and my husband and i could have easily been killed. i have an appointment with a lincoln dealership to have it checked out tomorrow at my own cost. i am very concerned at what took place. friends were behind me and witnessed the whole thing. i have been told there is no recall for such incidents. *jb

Pulling into a parking space the vehicle sped up on its own. the harder i braked the faster the acceleration. the rpm's red lined and i looked down and all gauges were going crazy. it felt as if i lost all power steering and braking. i turned the ignition off and the brake pedal went to the floor. started it back up and all seemed fine. the next day the check engine light came on. it is at the dealer today and they have never heard of anything like this. i was very scared. *jb
