On jan 14, 2006 , i came out in the am and started my 2000 lincoln navigator. i turned on wiper and started to drive in a few minutes the truck was filled with smoke. i immediately turn it off and got out. i return and started truck turned wipers back on and they worked except for intermittent mode. i then took truck to dealer the next day. they informed me that water leak past the windshield onto the fuse box and gem unit. they would have to replace windshield with a different type. ( not reseal. they said this was common on these trucks. they also needed to replace fuse box and gem total was $1200.00, i contacted ford because why would they have to replace windshield if it was original and not cracked. i was told there is no recall and they could not reimburse me. after loosing 2 other trucks in a 2 year period to fire both fords , i am now extremely annoyed that ford will not acknowledge these problems. i search forums and internet and see that this is common ( windshield leak), why will ford not pay for this. i guess they feel that if they can get away with it then why recall. i have lost 2 trucks because of electrical problems now i have a 3rd truck with similar problems. force ford to recall or fix these problems at their expense. i have been a mechanic for 15 years and understand a recall like this to replace windshields would be expensive but i the consumer can not keep buying trucks. *nm

Consumer states the vehicle vibrates, the problem started when the right rear tire lost approximately 50 square inches of rubber and the front tire developed a large bubble, since then the vehicle has been in the shop on several occasions, the dealer has tried to remedy the problem, but with no results, the dealer is now stating that the vibration is normal for this kind of vehicle.*jb

I purchased a 2000 lincoln navigator from laurel-ford dealer in mississippi on august 21, 2003. after asking the dealership if all necessary maintenances were done on vehicle my family and i left for new york. i still had the original mfr warranties and i purchased an extended warranty plan. while traveling on the interstate on august 25th the brake lights came on and suddenly the left rear tire exploded. my family and i feared for our lives. it turned out that the brakes were faulty, no emergency brakes, no stablizer, heavily rusty links, and etc. the tow truck had to tow us twice. after ariving in new york, a dealer, told me that the vehicle was never serviced. they explained in detialed in wrting. we could have been killed. i was on vaction with my twin boys and wife. i very angried with the laurel-ford dealership in ms and its owners. the tires seem dry rotted and corrosion was very visiable under the suv. since then, i spent over $5000 getting this navigator fixed and got very little satisfactin from the owner and his dealership. *ak
