While driving my 2005 lincoln navigator the vehicle stopped in the middle of traffic without any warning. eventually restarted the vehicle and took it to the dealer. the problem was a faulty throttle body assembly. we had to get the throttle body assembly replaced. the old part is not available.

My 2005 lincoln navigator fuel pump went bad, and when i went to buy one, there is a nation wide back order on this item, can this be because the part has been going bad on all navigators which is the cause of the major back order, now my car is sitting for 3 weeks because i cannot locate no fuel pump anywhere in the usa. *tr

2005 navigator injector failed and ruined engine on june 17, 2008 with 53,000 miles driven. car was billowing smoke, smelled strongly of gas, and stopped functioning as i was driving it. ford took nearly a month to replace engine and replace injector. picked car up on july 23, 2008. roughly 3 weeks later,a second injector failed on august 22, 2008. car was billowing smoke and failed and i had to pull over immediately. car was towed to dealer. picked up car today(aug 28,2008) and i know it will fail again in the next 14-30 days because early indicators are rough idol and rough start, and car displayed both as i drove away from the dealer today. called dealer-they said nothing comes up on test and ford won't replace another injector until it fails. unable to tow boat because of safety fears. if car fails while towing boat driver could most definitely loose control and have accident with 5000 lbs. of boat behind. what i have is a 60,000 vehicle with 53,000 miles on it that is completely undependable and not suitable to tow anything until all injectors are replaced because of safety concerns. the process of driving the car as the injector fails is harrowing because the car literally stops functioning as it is moving, billows smoke and smells strongly of gas, leaving me shaking and fearing that it may blow up or catch fire. the only way ford will replace an injector is if this exact thing occurs. it is just a matter of time before injury and damage occur. i urge you to do something about this before that happens. *tr

A little complex for this little box. driving in town. car starter to run really rough, volumes of white smoke out of tail pipe. check engine light on. flatbedded car to dealer. next day learned 2 fuel injectors had jammed on. dealer repaired. later in day, dealer explained 2 connecting rods had been bent attempting to compress fluid (gasoline). ford supplied a short block under warranty. six months later, volumes of white smoke, rough running, check engine light on. dealer stated another injector had jammed partially open. replaced. i asked if they had replaced all eight the initial time. no, ford won
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE - STORAGE - TANK ASSEMBLY - FILLER PIPE AND CAP

We have purchased a 2005 lincoln navigator. it is the only vehicle i have seen where there is no door/flap in the filler neck to prevent splash backof fuel in the event the cap is left off. i have checked the 2006 models, they appear to be the same. the dealer cannot advise why it is like that. i would assume it would present a fire hazard if the cap is accidentally left off. i have checked-there are no recalls as a result of this. if there is an internal splash back protection in the tank, no one seems to know about it. have put incident date as the date the car was purchased. thank you. *jb
