Actually i have lived with this problem since approx. yr.2003 one day i adjusted the lever for the brights or indicator and it felt as if it disengaged and was loose from then on. it seems that the light switch which connects with the indicator signals, intermittently the left headlight would go in and out (must have replace it three times until my husband realized it wasn't the bulb but the switch seemed to have broken loose)until recently the indicator switch would shut out the lights once i complete a turn and the switch re-adjust in place. this would happen occasionally with the brights on also. it would vary and you never know when it may happen. now the switch for the brights are not working at all. *nm

I own a 2000 mazda 626 with only 90,000 miles. i have been stranded several times in this car and spent over $3000 parts and labor. i had to replace the catalytic converter, several sensors, master break cylinder, cv boots, and rack and pinion. now i am having trouble with the transmission and the ac. the mechanic says i need to rebuild the trans and replace the ac compressor. this is another $3000 or more. i am very disappointed in this situation. i plead with you to take action on this. i have checked several web forums and found similar problems. please, please make mazda accountable for building such bad cars. fyi, i am very, very diligent in general maintenance. thanks for your time. chris. *nm

Engine check light and battery light came on, came on five times, the first time dealer replaced broken idler pulley belt bolt, second time dealer replaced alternator, third time dealer replaced ignition switch, fourth time transmission range sensor was replaced, and fifth time clutch pedal switch was replaced, at this time engine check light is on again.*ak consumer states when the vehicle was driven off the lot the first day, there was a horrific screeching noise from the right front wheel, consumer assumed that it was a new car noise and it would eventually go away, consumer was inforemd that something had slipped in the wheel area, over the next two weeks consumer complained to the dealer that vehicle was making an extremly loud thumping noise, the problem was diagnosed as the freon system which was then flushed and then refilled to the correct level, which was done to take out the air bubbles in the air condition line, also the air condition was blowing hot air, the center console would not latch, numerous componets were replaced on the vehicle due to the engine light coming on and the problem still exists.*jb
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - WIRING

2000 mazda 626 lx 4 cyl. on march 1st 2006, my speedometer dropped to zero while driving at a continuous speed (45 mph) this happened several times within a half hour period before the engine light came on. on march 2nd, i drove the car to the local mazda dealership for a diagnostic. according to the dealership, the diagnostic revealed that the speed sensor was bad. however, they also related that the sensor was replaced and that the problem was still there. the dealership proceeded with a search of the wiring in order to determine what the problem was. this was done at an hourly rate of $85.00 an hour. on march 6th, a broken wire was found at the firewall. it took them 7.5 hours to make this determination. on march 11th, while on the expressway, my o/d light began flashing off and on continuously. it also began bucking and jerking and would slip in and out of gears. this is the first time this has ever happened with this car. i just hit 95,000 miles and i purchased it new in may 2000. *nm

A few weeks ago my 2000 mazda 626 was bucking in reverse, then it would start doing the same thing in drive if i was stopped. i took it to a transmission place and they had to rebuild my transmission. there was a code coming up about the park neutral swith that it wasn't getting any power and made the tall converter go and when that happened it ruined my transmission. the check engine light still remained on my car was then sent to a mazda dealership where it still is now and they cannot figure out the problem. i am still without a car this is going on the third week and i still without an answer. they thought it might have been the computer leading up to these incidents but they are still unsure. please let me know if there is anything regarding a recall. thank you.
