Actually i have lived with this problem since approx. yr.2003 one day i adjusted the lever for the brights or indicator and it felt as if it disengaged and was loose from then on. it seems that the light switch which connects with the indicator signals, intermittently the left headlight would go in and out (must have replace it three times until my husband realized it wasn't the bulb but the switch seemed to have broken loose)until recently the indicator switch would shut out the lights once i complete a turn and the switch re-adjust in place. this would happen occasionally with the brights on also. it would vary and you never know when it may happen. now the switch for the brights are not working at all. *nm

One of the park light stopped working before 1 year of purchase. airconditioner compressor makes a very distinct click noise inside the car. this noise is too high compared to other cars. mazda mechanic says its normal. the worst problem i faced was the transmission problem. its erratic, doesn't cross 2nd gear, and makes a scary jerk at lower speeds when the gear shifts from 2nd to 1st gear upon removing leg from gas peddal. had to tow the car twice to dealer. its disgusiting transmission. appriciate if somebody could tell me alternatives to get the problem fixed and suggest next action at bskp@hotmail.com i have a new car, but can't go on ling drives as it is unreliablefrustrating
EXTERIOR LIGHTING - HEADLIGHTS
I am actually writing to report a problem i have with other vehicles on the road - specifically suvs and other small trucks, as well as vehicles using xenon lamps in their headlights. these vehicles have on numerous occassions blinded me while driving; the xenon lamps from oncoming traffic, and the trucks from behind. the xenon lamps are too bright for an oppossing driver to see past at night; frequently, it has been my experience that they are as bright or even brighter than high beams of most normal lamps. the trucks are a problem from even quite a distance away for drivers of sedans and smaller cars; when my husband drives, the headlamps of trucks reflect directly into his eyes through the rearview mirror (he is 6 ft tall, average height of a man in this country), as well as from the sideview mirror depending on the position of the truck behind us. i would strongly urge you to consider banning the xenon headlamps altogether, and to consider forming some sort of regulation that would dictate the height of headlamps of all vehicles (excepting semis) to within a range that will not interfere with the driving capabilities of any drivers on the road.*ak
