Defect SummaryThe studs which attach the brake master cylinder to the power brake vacuum booster assembly can develop stress corrosion cracking after being operated for an extended period of time in the southern california location.
Consequence SummaryIf a crack occurs, it could result in one or both studs fracturing. the master cylinder could then separate from the vacuum booster, when the brakes are applied, preventing the service brakes from fully activating increasing the risk of a vehicle accident.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the power brake vacuum booster assembly.

Abs brakes on rear always been bad, very grabby, lockup with medium to hard pressure. reported to dealer, checked, said no problem found. there is a problem, there's always been a problem and now it is getting worse. i've almost had an accident on several occasions as a direct result of this problem. i've been living with it for several years, but it is getting to the point where it is extremly dangerous. i've set up an appointment with the dealer, but wanted it on record with you as well. front spindle and bearing went out at 28,439 miles. dealer replaced. it is going out again at 53,000 miles. only supposed to be checked ever 30,000 miles not replaced!
