VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
01/11/200620
On long trips, often in cold, wet or snowy weather, the engine will occasionally rev out of control. this is not an issue of the throttle cable icing up because turning the engine off and restarting it (which is the last thing you want to do while still moving on icy roads) temporarily resolves the issue. therefore, it seems to be most likely an electrical problem. no diagnostic trouble codes (dtcs) are registered in the computer's memory, therefore no information exists by which to diagnose the problem. i have been to dealers and they have said they cannot help me unless they can replicate the problem in the shop. as i said, it has only happened after many hours of driving on long trips, which makes it impossible to replicate in the shop. *nm
