Earlier that day i got my oil changed on my lunch break at work. i drive back to work my car sits in the parking lot and i leave a few hours later well my car it was making a really loud noise it sounded like a helicopter i live about 30 miles away so i figured if i drive slow enough i might be able to make it home. as i was going up a hill the car start to decelerate so im like ok maybe i need to go slower no i get up over the hill and am going down the hill and the car just dies there on the side of the road. i get it towed to mazda the next day because i find out i have a powertrain warrenty until 60,000 miles i only have 54,000 miles on it so they tow it under my roadside assistance. now my car has been there for a month and come to find out my timing chain went on it causing a domino effect on it and making the engine go. now the dealership wants 8 grand to fix my car because mazda denied my claim due to engine sludge which at this low of miles and me performing regular oil changes they considered lack of maintance because i couldnt prove it.

Mazda cx-7 2008; i purchased the car in september 2007 and it currently has 19,908 miles. the ac is breaking down. while i'm driving on the highway at 65mph, the pressure or high ac air pressure drops and hot air comes out. i also experienced burning smoke coming through the vents. i had the car inspected by the dealer back on august 3, 2012 and they replaced the valve cover. on september 1, 2012 i was driving again on the highway with my family and we experienced the same problem. the ac pressure dropped, hot air was flowing out of the ac and we smelled burning smoke. i took the car to the dealer this morning and they are now advising me that i have to replace the blower fan which is out of warranty (3 years/36k miles) and will cost $500. i have no problems paying for a part, but the valve cover, blower fan, or ac items shouldn't be breaking down at 19k original miles. i asked wayne mazda service consultant: anthony cunha if the blower fan was part of the ac compressor and he said, no. i strongly feel that mazda installed faulty ac compressor/units on the 2008 cx-7. this issue has to be investigated before a car catches on fire and people get burned alive or worse, a multiple car crash on the road resulting in deaths.

I bought the car at 30k miles in november of 2011. i have since driven 15k miles on it. i noticed a click in the engine. i took it to the dealership where they proceeded to tell me that everything was fine and i needed to get a 45k mile maintenance on it. i told them the clicking was bothering me. they said that was fine. i got the car back and the noise appeared to have gone... but reappeared after a few days. i went back to the dealership and told them that a car under 5 years old with less than 50k miles on it shouldn't make that noise. they finally admitted there was a problem with the timing chain, causing a leak in the oil which put sludge in the engine. they told me it was my fault etc. i proceeded to look online and there were thousands of other people with the same problem. from the research i have done, they aren't even making the car anymore and i'm sure it's due to these same engine problems. my dealership told me it was my fault... and the other people on http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f1826a6/0 had the exact same problem. i hope someone does something about this! the dealership tried to switch out the car saying that they were trying to help... and after driving it for 10 minutes... i told them the beginning noise was in this car as well. he acted aloof and said he didn't hear it... until we were back at the dealership. then he said... 'oh ... i hear it now' they need to do a full recall of this car. working so hard to finally be able to get a car makes you so happy... but to get ripped off in the end.... it's awful. i feel completely vulnerable and it's terrible. thanks for even having this website... hopefully we can get this car off the market!

I was driving my car close to home and i was traveling at a speed of about 30 mph. i heard a few taps and then turned off the heating/air conditioning. as i pulled into my driveway, the noise resumed and a burning electrical smell started and actually the smell remained the entire night. i had it towed the next day to my local automotive repair place and as it currently stands the clutch burned up in the compressor and the car is not driveable. i called the dealership, russel, in baltimore and asked if there had been these problems and i was told no. i have since read many stories that are about the same.

I was traveling in valencia on the 5 freeway and the interior of my 2008 mazda cx-7 filled with smoke to the point where i found it difficult to drive. i pulled to the exit (magic mountain pkwy) and pulled to the side turning off the engine. after several minutes i lifted the hood to find that the engine was still smoking around the belt area. i was able to get the car to firestone newhall, ca where they are still looking at it. very dangerous situation. the ac compressor seized causing the belt to fire and almost catch fire. after further research i have found that this is a common and dangerous problem with this make and model.

The driver's seat under welding which attaches the chair to the body of the car, under the seat, has become detached for no known reason. the front end of the driver's seat unit is no longer attached to the frame of the car yet the back end of the seat is still attached by the motor controls to the power seat. the driver's seat actually rocks back like a rocking chair lifting & moving the seat and backrest as one unit. the broken weld is actually visible when looking under the driver's seat. the motor to the power seat has been functioning but is deteriorating. the seatbelt cannot protect me from this defective seat, if i were rear-ended it would be likely that i, the driver, would be flung backwards into the back seat which could fatally injure one of my children.

Without warning the cabin of my mazda cx-7 filled with smoke and the powersteering went out. apparently faulty ac compressor burned belts and knocked out powersteering. mazda replaced compressor with new revised compressor. *tr

My car is a 2008 mazda cx-7 and this summer i began to use the ac which never seems to cool off my car. it blow cold air but not very cold and i have to keep it at level 4 and push the other button that makes it blow harder. which i think is the circulation button. i should not have to keep it on full blast and with the ac button and the one next to it depressed all the time to cool my car off. i don't think it is running correctly. *tr
