| Defect Summary | Thule, inc. is recalling 2,323 owner-installed roof-mounted fit kits, models 3068 and 3069, manufactured between january 1, 2008 and february 28, 2009 that are used with thule podium foot packs, models 460 and 460r. these fit kits were sold as aftermarket equipment for use on the vehicles listed above. the bolt(s) used to secure the foot to the vehicle was manufactured to a hardness that may cause the bolt(s) to be brittle and potentially break under stress. | |||||||||||||||
| Consequence Summary | This may result in the bolt(s) snapping off during use or without a load. the unsecured rack and load can then come loose while driving creating a potential road hazard, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. | |||||||||||||||

| Fog lights is burning the inner housing bezel with the possible hazard of a fire . in addition mazda replaced the bezel they also replaced my driving light bulbs and now the vehicle has extremely reduced night visibility creating also a safety hazard had the headlights bezel replaced twice under warranty. now mazda refuses to change the bezel or bulbs again since they claim vehicle is out of warranty; even doe it was an issue replaced twice under warranty and my vehicle is now unsafe at night.. proof that it was a know issue to mazda that later models the fog lights were relocated in the bumper. | |||

| 2006 mazda6 grand touring hesitated when accelerating and de-accelerating. the gears also became stuck. *kb the vehicle has been taken to the dealer multiple times for air conditioning/heater problems., radio/cd and condensation on the inside of the windshield. | |||

| 2005 grand touring gets stuck in gear while driving. *ts the vehicle became stuck in gear three time while driving on the freeway. the consumer took her foot off the accelerator yet the vehicle continued to move at 60 mph. the consumer pressed the brake pedal but the vehicle continued at 60 mph. the consumer put the car in manual 6 speed and the vehicle bucked then worked normally. as soon as the vehicle was put back into automatic mode the gears became stuck. the vehicle was taken to the dealer but they were unable to duplicate the problem. the consumer noticed condensation on the inside bottom of the windshield. the check engine light illuminated due to failed throttle body. the radio experienced problems. the left rear wheel was bent and caused vibration while driving. *nm | |||
