 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 mazda speed 6. while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle began to misfire. the contact stopped the vehicle and allowed it to rest. afterwards, it appeared to operate normally. the failure later recurred and the contact heard a loud sound coming from the engine compartment, followed by smoke. he pulled the vehicle over and noticed a trail of oil. he opened the hood and noticed that the engine was completely covered in oil. the vehicle was towed and continued to leak. the contact then noticed a large hole at the bottom of the engine block. the dealer was supposed to do a teardown of the motor, but they refused. the vehicle is currently still at the dealer and has not been repaired. the current and failure mileages were 51,000.

 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 mazda mazdaspeed6. the contact stated the engine made a loud noise and occasionally it would not start. the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times while under warranty and stated the engine was operating normally. the vehicle was taken to another dealer who performed a diagnostic which indicated that the failure was within the engine variable valve timing. the manufacturer denied assistance with the repaired because the vehicle warranty expired. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 39,000 and the current mileage was 61,000.
