Noticeable oil leak, scattered all over where the vehicle is normally parked as well as all over the driver's side underbody. oil level drops approximately 1 us quart per 2-3 days, driven only lightly to and from place of employment. 10 miles a day tops. diagnosed by independent ase certified mechanic as substantial leak from the oil cooler lines, due to rust and extreme corrosion. the car is not driven in a harsh climate, and generally not in snow or ice. i see a recall for this in some countries, but not the united states, despite being subjected to the same road conditions. this car is unsafe to drive.

Driving home from the store, backed into my driveway. got out of the car and saw oil the entire length of the driveway and all under the undercarriage, right driver side suspension, and tire. the oil cooler hose rusted through and dumped oil on the tire. this was the reason i was have extra long stops and pulling to the passengers side during braking.

Clutch pedal assembly failure. causing the pedal to shift inward towards the brake pedal.

My clutch pedal was already replaced at 101,000 miles by another dealer part by mazda that was suppose to be updated by mazda because of so many clutch pedal brackets in the rx8's always breaking. mazda even extended the warranty over 100,000 miles because it was becoming so common. the so called updated one they replaced, broke again, and it was new when it was put in. it lasted 50k miles and thats all. im going on my 3rd clutch pedal assembly and mazda will only cover the first breakage. i called mazda corporate and they said that the replacement clutch only carries a part warranty of 30,000 miles. and that the clutch pedal assembly is a wear and tear item. clutch pedals in every other car on the market last the lifetime of the car. and im going on 3 in this car alone. mazda was suppose to have put an updated clutch pedal assembly in my car and they diddnt. given, the work was done at firestone because my car was the closest to that place because it was undrivable. but even if it was done at mazda they still would have given me the same crappy warranty. mazda says that the extended warranty only covers the first clutch pedal assembly replacement. the first one lasted longer than the second one! and the second one was suppose to be better. come to find out. the mazda dealer that sold firestone the clutch assembly, sold them the old model one and charged me new pricing! my complaint to you is that since all of these rx8 owners are breaking their clutch still. mazda is not holding onto their promise to fix clutch pedal issues. is there any way you guys can force mazda to cover the newer pedals that break too? i mean this whole thing is rediculous.

My clutch pedal assembly has been creaking now and shaking now for quite some time. originally (a year or so ago) when i asked to receive the extended warranty on it from mazda they said that it was not bad enough but what am i supposed to do wait for it to fail on the road so i have to pay to get it replaced and a tow truck? i have a 2004 and the warranty for everything is now over based on time.

As my wife and i were diving home my clutch pedal stuck to the floor. i couldn't shift gears so i had to coast to the emergency lane.

 1. clutch pedal assembly would make pop noise when being depressed and released. 2. clutch pedal bracket to firewall snapped causing clutch pedal to not return. could not change gears or stop with car on. 3.had to replace with factory pedal (the same pedal that caused the problem).

While stopped at a light i pressed my clutch pedal and i hear a pop. the clutch now is loose and i'am not able to change gears. after while i was able to get into 1st gear. the shop discovered the clutch pedal bracket snapped

Everything started fine. while driving my clutch pedal failed on me and i was unable to properly maneuver the vehicle. clutch pedal sticks to the ground and the gears get stuck and i have to rip them out. it happened once, because now the car is inoperable. to correct the failure i'm going to replace clutch pedal bracket assembly and possibly an new clutch altogether.

My 2004 mazda rx8 clutch pedal snap off while i was driving home...

Clutch pedal bracket snapped and cannot go into any gear. got stuck in a stop light unable to shift into gear immediately...when i was able to (after 1min of trying to get into gear), i couldn't get out of it immediately (took 15secs)...very dangerous considering if i was on a highway and got stuck in gear while exiting...luckily i wasn't

The clutch began to squeak and i took it to the dealer for inspection. they found that the clutch bracket had cracked at one of the welded location. this happened under normal daily driving to work and back. it cost me $369.00 to replace the clutch pedal assembly with a new one. i don't think that this should happen under normal driving circumstances. this should be a recall item because if i did not take it into the dealer right away, the crack would have led to a catastrophic failure.

The mazda people have known about the driver's side sun visor failing. they have a tsb open on it. i have a 2004 rx8 and i just installed my 6th visor. up until now mazda has replaced them for free, but now it's out of warranty and i'm paying for them. sometimes when they fail they fail by dropping down and interfering with the drivers vision. i think it's high time that mazda engineer a fix and replace all of these visors out on the road. from nhtsa web site. *tr
