 Tl*the contact owns a 1993 mercury grand marquis. the contact stated that the vehicle abnormally leaks oil from the oil pan. routinely, he must have the oil pan temporarily patched to prevent a total loss of oil. he called various dealers and was advised that the failure was widespread and the repair would cost between $685 to $1,000. the vehicle has not been repaired. the contact called the manufacturer and was advised to call the national highway traffic safety administration. the failure mileage was 30,000 and current mileage was 78,912.

 I sent you (nhtsa) information on my 1993 mercury grand marque on 17 january 2007 that in 2001 the ford motor co. did not repair the defected recall #99v124 action #rq01002 when i requested it, and in september 2006 my vehicle caught fire.the ford motor co. and the attorney generals response was negative and i have not received any response from you (nhtsa). can you help me?

 While the vehicle was parked, it caught on fire. the fire department extinguished the fire. no one was injured. the vehicle was towed to a garage. the cause has not been determined at this time. please provide further details. *jb

 Problem with engine stalling/ had starter replaced on two occasions, and problem appeared. to be reoccurring. believed starter will need to be replaced for the third time. all repairs were done by a independent repairs shop. feel free to provide any further information on this matter.*ak
