Gas pedal went all the way to the floor and would not release. i kept hitting the pedal to try and release it for about 2 miles. i kept my foot on the brake to try and slow the car down, but that didn't help. the floor mat was not under the pedal because it is too short to reach it. after hitting the pedal as hard as i could numerous times it released. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 grand marquis. while driving 25 mph the power adjustable foot pedal failed and almost caused a collision. after applying the brake pedal the accelerator pedal adjusted itself without warning to the same level which caused the driver to engage the accelerator pedal. the ford dealer misunderstood what the failure was, therefore, diagnosing the vehicle to be operating normally. a diagnosis was performed by a sec ond mechanic, and while driving he was able to duplicate the failure. the failure mileage was 180, and the current mileage was 260. *ak
