Originally, the car alarm would go off without a reason--sometimes within a few minutes of each other, sometimes days apart or even weeks. it has escalated now to not being able to lock my door, any doors, without the alarm going off within a few minutes any time of the day or night. even when the doors are not locked and i am driving down the street, my lights start flashing on the inside and outside for the first few minutes of getting into the car. i have friends and relatives who tell me they know people with cars, especially explorers that do that. the guy are the ford service department told me that they have had a lot of issues dealing with that problem, especially with explorers. they tell me that the remedy is getting the entire door lock system changed out on the front passenger door at the cost of close to $400.
