I commute a long distance to work, when i can't fill up my gas tank and the engine light constantly comes on i don't feel safe. when it rains the car sometimes losing power and brakes. the tires and brakes have already been replaced. the following items have also been reolaced, seat belts, air conditioner, drivers side eletric window motor, the horn and more. whenever i take the car to the dealership i am told that the engine light coming on is no big deal and the brakes and tires were normal wear and tear (the car was maybe a year to a year and a half old) they also told me there is nothing they can do about the gas tank not filling up. i am extremely dissatisfied and would like to know what i can do legally about it. my car is going into the shop again for what i think may be the sensors (this has happened before) the only differance is that this will be the second time i have to pay out of my pocket, i have contacted lemon law, the dealership, ford, and the bank holding the lease. lemon law contacted the dealership and this was the only time i received service with a smile instead of an attitude. even though the problem is still not resolved. please let me know what i can do to have these problems resolved.( dot number: )

Fuel door doesn't always open, halting fuel re-fill process, ocational fuel spill/over run. fuel tank has been worked on two times by dealers. fuel door has been worked on one time by dealers. re-fueling problem seems to vary slightly by brand of fuel purchased. oddly, slower fuel re-fill action doesn't really seem to make a difference.

FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER - STORAGE - TANK ASSEMBLY - FILLING/CHARGING
01/03/2005880001
Fuel vapor smell. diagnosed as a failed hose at the top of the fuel tank (between the tank and the vehicle body). service writer indicated that the problem was caused by flexing between the body and the tank and that, in his opinion, the design did not take the flexing into account sufficiently. there was a fuel leak, and the vehicle would have leaked significant fuel in a roll over.*ak
