| While driving in rain consumer tapped on brakes and vehicle went to the opposite side of road. it felt like vehicle was hydroplaning. steering wheel would not turn, even a quarter of an inch. consumer could have been killed because brakes malfunctioned. please provide any further information.*ak | |||

| Vehicle does not brake correctly. minor accident because of the abs system. a knocking noise with floor board vibrations when making turns also occurs. dealer has attempted 3 repairs and decided to void the manufacturers warranty by accusing customer of tampering with sensors. no further help from dealer or manufacturer. dangerous and deadly vehicle!*ak | |||

| On march 31, 2001, my husband and i purchased a 2001 eclipse for our 17 year old son, to carry him through highschool and college. around 3 hours later he braked to avoid hitting 2 dogs, the left front brake locked up and the others did nothing. this caused the car to swing around at 180 degrees and go backwards into a ditch hitting a steel culbert. the police stated that the cause of the accident was the brakes. if working properly, the car could have been controlled. no ticket was given to our son. he and his friend has neck and back pain. hopefully it will heal. the trama is still there for our son i know. the thought of what could have happened is horrific if he had been by a bluff, on a major interstate or etc. now the car is wrecked, and the expense is ours, this was a gift, he is a responsible child, the brakes that was put on this car could have caused much more damage to these children. i am unsettled on what to do, i am checking into it, hopefully someone will take this serious enough to put a stop to this problem. we thank god for dustin and his friends life, but the injury's are there and it is very tramatic. we are thankful not to have been at the point of a funeral for one or both. now dusty is shy to drive, believe me, this does tramitize one. the point is, i need help to get this fixed, the brakes, the car, and it not to happen again to anyone, it is to late if they are killed. as a parent i am horrified, does these manufactors not have to be responsible for their parts, no matter the age one life is to much. please help if you can, i will use what ever avenue i have to for help. thank you, sincerely -- tina l. guyse. *ak | |||

| Consumer states while driving vehicle without warning and at any speed, vehicle will shake, mechanic states all four rims are dented resulting in vehicle shaking.*jb consumer states this also causes the steering to shake. dealer had to secure clamp due to vehicle losing antifreeze. brake light illuminated, dealer replaced front brake pads. sunroof would not tilt, dealer reset the sunroof glass. *slc | |||

| Brake pads on rear of vehicle began squealing with only a few thousand miles on them. it has always been relayed to me that there is a squeal indicator built into the pads to notify you of the need to replace your brake pads. i believe it is a potential hazard to the owner since the brake shoes in the rear squeal constantly now at every use and so the owner gets use to the squeel and the brake pads will go beyond their service life and cause stopping problems. i have been told by the dealer that i just have to live with the squealing because they are semi-metallic brake pads and asbestos is no longer allowed. now if i bought into this answer we wouldn't be able to exist in the city due to all vehicles squealing loudly like my car does when braking. i can not buy into this argument at all. // the alloy wheels on this vehicle are very prone to bending in even the slightest road hazard. i have had two wheels bent and had to completely replace one. the wheel collision place didn't even want the wheel back for a core due to the extent of the bending in the wheel. this wheel didn't take much of a bump and it still bent like this. i do not know the extent of the damage to the wheel as far as the integrity of the wheel after the small road hazard. *ak | |||

| Front brake rotors were warped same day when vehicle got delivered brand new, dealership resurfaced them and 9k miles later they became warped again, that is when they got finally replaced on the new ones. very poor quality of the brake parts!*ak | |||
